Magical resist doesn't work anymore

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 4:16 pm

I'm playing on hardmode, and after getting onehitted by old dragons firebreath, I enchanted my armour with magical resist as much as I could. After that I never had any problems with mages and old dragons, but since the patch is out, the resist doesn't seems to work anymore, I get massvie magical damage again, and the old dragons are onehitting me again.

Does some of you have the same problem?

the last patch had a bug that ignores magic resistance, there should be a new one coming out this week to fix it

If you even bothered to LOOK on the forums you would seen hundreds of topics on this...yes it doesnt work, yes its damn well apain, no I bet it wont be fixed in the next patch, beth are useless at patches, but if you're on the pc you can get a mod that fixes it :celebration: (funny how these mods fix all these things the day it happens and beth takes weeks....) if you're a console brother of skyrim...I feel bad for ya :/

Thank you for posting this amazing news. I had no idea magical resist was broken. I didn't see any of the stickies posts or any of the hundreds of other posts concerning this matter. Im really glad you took the time to clarify this for me.

Yes there is no magic resistance at all in the game. Hopefully Bethesdas patch next week actually fixes bugs without adding system breaking bugs.

Not just for game patches, but for all computer updates I find it is generally a good idea to wait a few days up to a few weeks and look up consumer reviews.

I have done this ever since years ago. I updated a web browser when it asked me if I wanted to, and it promptly deleted all my bookmarks, add-ons and was unable to access the internet.

When something new like this comes out, for your own safety and stress reducement, always look up if there may be a problem associated with it.

That wont help now, and Im sorry you experience this bug, but in a few days a patch should come out and adress this issue.

Get the SRSE if you're on PC. It fixes the resistance issue.

We shouldn't need to do this but indeed, you can avoid many hassles like that.
I remember that driver update for Nvidia cards that had a fan malfunction and caused the deaths of many expensive graphic cards.
Thankfully I found out before mine broke.
