Apply textures only to player

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:10 am

Hello all,

Is there a way to apply skin textures only to the player character rather than all of the NPCs as well...?

Cheers,
Mat

You will have to create a new separate race for your PC--i.e., if you want a dark elf with unique tattoos, then duplicate the dark elf race in the CS (+ make a new directory with new textures) and pick that one on character creation. (Otherwise, if you just dump all the new textures in, all the dark elves in the game will have tattoos.)

Curious - Why bother, when you can't see your player most of the time? Unless you are into taking close-up vanity shots of your PC...

Bingo.

But also my point was that I wanted textures to not be applied to NPCs, for example the tattoos that I have are "mine", so I wondered if there was a way to make NPCs NOT have them as well.

But yeah I do take vanity shots...

Through different techniques I managed to apply a face texture as well as a 3D model of my face into Oblivion, so I basically play as myself. Nice to see yourself dressed up as a mighty mage.
