I've recently installed Crysis 2 on my Windows XP SP3 system and after patching the game it will not launch. I've tried to reinstall it and that had no effect. I went on the Task manager and saw that after i launched the game from the shortcut the Crysis2Launcher.exe would load for a second then disappear. I would really appreaciate some help on this matter. Thanks.

If Crysis 2 is a 64 bit application, and you're running it in a 32 bit enviroment, it would crash instantly. Is your version of XP 32 bit?

Yes, I am running a 32bit system. But before the 1.9 patch the game had worked fine in the past (computer got wiped and I am reinstalling games).

Make sure that the crysis 2 .exe post patch 1.9 is still a 32 bit application. If not, that would explain the immediate crashing. I have absolutely no idea if it is or isn't. I know the community complained about it, and I thought they fixed it.

There could be a 64 bit launcher and a 32 bit launcher.

Try running the .exe in compatibility mode with windows XP SP3.

There's only 1 Crysis 2 exe, and it's in a Bin32 folder.

There is only one Crysis2Launcher.exe and one Crysis2.exe. And I am not sure how to check if it is a 64bit program, but it should run in a 32bit enviroment.

Yup 32-bit. I was also running Crysis 2 in XPSP3/DX9/32-bit

Pro Tip: In Win7 Task Manager, 32-bit processes will have *32 next to their name.
