How do you play your character?

At the moment I've got a level 12 redgaurd who is.... Well, a theif/warrior hybrid, that's the only way I can explain it.

Basicly, I decided to mess about and start a character who is a stealth-based character, but can only use blades. To help me out I got the Deadly Reflex mod for the "ambush" special move (And just because it's an awesome mod, period) and a magic mod which I can't remember, which makes telekenesis actually usefull and allows you to blast a monster back and on his [censored] for a while.

Usually, he sneaks around and picks off targets by approaching them from the behind, using a sneak attack and then a flurry of sword-dagger strikes to finish them off, however, if he:

A) Fails completely at sneaking
B) Is fighting more than one mob
C) The Ambush ends up pulling everything within a 5 mile radius

He equips his shield, tosses up a 30% barrier spell from alteration to bring him to 34 armour, selects his telepathy spell and goes into action.

Most of the time, I'm okay - as if I'm fighting more than one mob, I can use the telepathy spell to put one of them out of action for a while (usually takes 40-50 secs for them to get back up after a telepathy spell) however, I can usually only do this once or twice per fight, as it knocks my magika bar to half, which I need to keep barrier up. This considerabley improving my chances as multiple mobs spell the death of me due to staggerific tendancies.
Using a mixture of the Athletic skill to move around quickly, shield bashing and blocking, he can dispatch multiple foes in combat rather easily, so long as the barrier doesn't fall down, or so long as he doesn't get backed into a corner.

He's nowhere near as surviveable as a flat-out warrior, but he can hold his own and that's all that really matters. He's a fun character to play, definatley.

Since she's my newest character, I'm going to talk about http://img138.imageshack.us/i/screenshot31nv.png/.
She's probably my most heavily modded character yet, as pretty much everything about her is modded.
She dual wields two iron longswords (and I mean real dual wielding. I use DMC Stylish sword dancer) and wears light armour.
She's quite strong, but her real forte is her speed and endurance. Among her order, she earned the title 'The Tornado'
Her strategy usually involves relentlessly beating on her opponent, moving around them with dodges and rolls.
The only magic she uses are restoration and destruction spells.

Oh, and she almost never wears anything that would get in the way during combat. She's a self-expressed tomboy.

Sounds like you are doing fine, and more importantly, having fun! :)

Buffy is a very fragile (base strength/endurance, dresses only for fashion) glass cannon mystic archer. The bow is her passion, and she views magic as a tool to be a better archer and to compensate for her refusal to touch melee weapons. In fact, the only weapon she will touch is her bow, Slayer. Skill with stealth, mind control spells and poison combines with a careful stalking style using loads of detect life range to help keep her alive.

A typical long range attack might be a combination 'prep' spell that drains a target's speed and weakens them to poison. That is immediately followed by a poisoned arrow from the shadows with devastating results. When combined with the right poison, this two-step attack can safely kill even a poison-immune storm atronach with one arrow.

When confronted up close, she will cast a spell to immobilize her foe, then open fire with Slayer. Crowds are thinned by mind control spells that allow her foes to kill each other off. Combat underwater is by blocking with her bow and casting absorb health on touch.

Her panic buttons include invisibility (often combined with summoning a clannfear), Cobra's Dance (Serpent Stone greater power), and simply immobilizing her foe so she can open fire with her bow. Although she may disappear, turn around and run away sometimes, her tactics do not include kiting (running backwards while trying to shoot a bow).

Most of my characters use a combination of Illusion and Marksman to stay alive. Since I'm a total wuss, I really don't want to be in close combat with anyone (especially gross scary zombies or something... They totally freak me out.). I'd rather sneak around and shoot them in the back before they see me. If I have to fight close-up, though, most of my characters will pick up a one-handed longsword with a good enough reach to keep the enemy as far away from me as possible.

I have one character who relies solely on Illusion, ranged Destruction and Marksman and refuses to pick up any melee weapons of any sort. She's really fun to play on, but sometimes really frustrating when you just keep missing the target and wish you could just go over and hack the foe to bits.

I've had a tendency to play the ranged-damage, stealthy types in the past, but lately I'm having a great time with two characters who break that mold in different ways.

Heddvild is a Nord Barbarian who just wades into everything, swinging a claymore. She's very strong and durable, and, uh, not too bright... ;)

Ludlita is a nasty weak Altmer who loves to get in close to melee opponents and kill them with an On Touch Absorb Health. Doesn't matter if they're hacking at you with a battleaxe, if you're svcking their health up while they do it. Especially if you're also wearing a bunch of Reflect Damage and Reflect Magic enchantment. :)
