Installation through Origin Issues

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:28 pm

I have downloaded game through Origin multiple times, and once it reaches 10% it tries to go to finalizing and preparing for install, but it never turns over and installs. Rather, it cycles back down to about 99.5 %, and then re-downloads data to reach 100%, and repeats process.

Has anyone else ever had this issue? I have installed other games through Origin, and their support has been anything but helpful so far.

I have an i3, 3.1 gHz, 8GB of game ram, and a Radeon 6870

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I can see all files, but not sure what to do to try a manual install.

Delete all Crysis 2 content, and then download from beginning again...
Also...
Turn your firewall and antivirus off- but don't go on the Internet!

This is a reasonbable thing to try, but you should be extremely careful if you turn off your anti-virus/firewall.

You should also try getting in contact with EA support as they provide technical support for Crysis 2 and of course Origin. You can find them at http://support.ea.com.

Hello All:

Thank you all for suggestions. After an intitial rough patch or two or three with Origin Support I got someone who provided me with a link to download the Limited Edition, rather than the standard edition which is apparently what was being sold. I did not see a distinction or rather an opportunity to purchase anything but the one I got, but I suspect I was not the first to encounter this issue.

In any event, the support line seemed fairly confident. I have it downloading not, and won't be back home until later, but I am hopeful that it will work. Assuming it does, I will let everyone know.
