Stuck inside the Oblivion Gate

Post » Sat Oct 24, 2009 6:41 am

So, this is what happen...

Before i went into the Oblivion gate i forgot to save. As i walked deeper inside the realm of Oblivion i realized that i could return(I fell into a hole). I've tried to complete my quest but somehow i can't(I'm only level 3 and my gear isn't great). What can i do? And no! I won't make a new character!

Thank you :wink_smile:

Oh and I'm new here by the way. Hi. :wink_smile:

PC or X-Box? With PC, you can use console commands (ie. tcl) to get out of the hole. With X-Box, you might have to go to the last save game you have... assuming you do have at least one at some point?

EDIT // Oh, and welcome! :icecream:

Even on a console there should be an autosave to go back to, probably at entry to the plane of Oblivion, but if you're lucky, the entrance to the cave.

Before you went into to the Oblivion portal can you remember where were you on the world game map?

In case you didn't changed cell you can load the autosave file.
If not go outside and bring up the local map and look for a exit to the game world. :)

If you're absolutely sure you can't exit by any other way, open the console and type:

TCL

Close the console.

This removes the collision from the player and allows you to "fly" (for lack of a better word).

When you are safe turn the collision back on the same way you turned it off.

I can't open the cheat console. I think it's because I have Windows 7.

A. Do you have the INI set to enable the console?

bAllowConsole=0
bAllowConsole=1 ;now enabled

B. Have you tried this (thanks to Milton)

1) Disable automatic driver downloads:
- Start menu -> Right click Computer -> Properties -> Advanced System Settings (top left) -> Hardware -> Windows Update Drivers Settings -> Select "Never check for drivers when I connect a device." -> OK -> Apply -> OK

2) Turn off SSDP Discovery:
- Start menu -> Type in "services.msc" without quotes and press Enter -> Scroll to "SSDP Discovery" -> Right click and select Properties -> Change Startup Type to "Disabled" -> Apply -> OK

3) Uninstall ENE CIR Receiver:
- Start menu -> Right click Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Click the + beside Human Interface Devices -> Right click "ENE CIR Receiver" and select Uninstall -> MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE UNINSTALL SOFTWARE BOX ON THE PROMPT (this will take the Microsoft eHome Infrared Trasceiver with it) -> OK -> Let the uninstall take place -> Reboot the computer

4) Preventing installation of IR device drivers:
- Upon reboot you will receive a prompt asking you if you want to install the device drivers -> SELECT "NEVER FOR THIS DEVICE"

5) Turn ON SSDP Discovery:
- Follow directions from earlier and select "Manual" from the drop down menu (Startup Type) -> Apply -> OK

C. Here is a mod http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13133 but does require http://obse.silverlock.org/

Hope that helps.

Yes but it sounded like it was a hole you can find yourself out from/advance in quest without realizing it, but I guess it was a hole youre not supposed to be in then. =)

To use it, you need to hotkey it (open your inventory hold down a number(1-8) , and select the RIng of Console) to use the ring, then select the key to open the console.

Edit: Welcome to the forums! Have another http://images.uesp.net//c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

I thought the OP meant their character was stuck in a hole that they couldn't get out of and had no saves to go back on...

There are some holes in Oblivion that you definitely don't want to fall into. :)
