Did I waste my money?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:02 pm

I bought Crysis 2 the other day and only got around to playing it yesterday.
But I cant play multiplayer for seemingly the usual reason of not being able to sign in and I cant even make a new account either. Says my details are incorrect when I try to sign in and when I make a new account it says unsuccessful. Obviously I've tried everything possible and looked at all possible solutions.
But Im guessing EA just fail again, giving up on this game as the problem seems to have been around since release yet no one has fixed it yet. Pretty pathetic really.

So have I just been scammed 20 quid, or can I get my money back?

Oh and thanks Crytek (and EA)! Enjoy your cash.

Try making a new e-mail account on hotmail or whatever and creating a new gamesas account here on gamesas, then log in with your new account details.

If that doesn't work I think it's something to do with your internetz...

There seemed to be some player database errors over the weekend; 404 errors when clicking on a poster's name, and C2stats.com not able to update...

Ok so I made this account, but still cant get in.
I actually hate EA, they always screw me and everyone else around. I'll keep my money rather than waste it on Battlefield, thanks.

Cant, I told you, it tells me account creation was not successful.

The thing is, when I was at home I made a new account and went online fine (but I dont think I had to sign in after I made the account...). But now Im back at Uni (where I have played online before) nothing works. So really stumped, and annoyed...

^this. Its really worth trying again, imo.

Also, making the account in-game can avoid other problems that are well-documented here. First, though, clear all browser cookies from secure.gamesas.com before entering the game to create the account.

Turn off your antivirus and firewall when making a new account!

Is that REALLY a good idea ?

Dont really trust my shared network enough to turn my defenses off.

Why not? Close all internet programs, and then do this... It only takes a minute! When I downloaded BF3 I needed to have my firewall and antivirus turned off all the time ( I didn't go on the Internet though :P)

Why should you need to though, what difference does turning them off make...? Just curious...

It doesn't. Although well-intentioned, this just wont help.

I previously suggested clearing secure.gamesas.com cookies because I know them to cause trouble with this site....

This problem, though, still reeks of cookies. I would suggest deleting ALL myrysis.com AND gamespy.com related cookies and give that a shot. Also, make sure you are using a certain-to-be-unique name for your account id, I seem to recall the error handling messages on unavailable names to be misleading. Good Luck, hope to see you in game.

Have you tried to cancel the internet temporary files and the cookies?

I'm not an expert, but it's possible that EA blocks servers of the university to acces to the game.

...
I would try to access from another place.

Good luck!
