What's the best spot for Gold Nuggets ?

One would think mines, but there are a couple problems with that. First, all silver and gold veins are non-respawning; although they can make handy safe containers, once their nuggets are gone, they won't spawn more. Secondly, of the 24 mines in the game, only Abandoned Mine has gold veins (silver veins are common in most mines).

Gold nuggets can also be found sometimes as random loot.

There may indeed be a few 'fixed' gold nuggets located in the game, but honestly, I haven't noticed. Someone else may know of a few fixed or hand placed gold nugget locations.

For Midas Magic, it adds a camp somewhere(I forget the name and location, have been ages since i played around with Midas Magic).
You buy stocks from someone, and then he will sometimes have gold for sale. That's really the only way minus console commands/more mods.

If you have OOO, vampires sometimes have a few nuggets on them. I don't have Midas Magic though so I guess I can't really give advice there.

There are two legitimate ways to get gold nuggets. One, previously mentioned by RoflLizard, is to buy shares in the Broke Back Mining Co. And the second is to use the Assimulator to convert jewelry into gold.

There are a few mod-added ways to get nuggets also. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31584 adds gold nuggets to create spells.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34419 adds all ingredients needed to create spells.
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18398 adds the spells to the leveled list just as Bethesda's own Spell Tomes mod did.

With all of the mods out there, I will be shocked if someone hasn't made a decent gold mine mod independent of the gold mine added by MM. At the very least, I'm certain there's a small mod out there somewhere that simply makes gold veins respawnable. If not, it should be a quick and easy one to make.

Isn't there the jewelry crusher in the Midas Magic-storeplace in the Imperial City, where you can crush jewelry to get jewels? I think you get gold nuggets from crushing gold jewelry.

I find them a lot of the time in barrels in people's basemants, including guilds.
