Bought Crysis 2 Limited Edition just a couple of days ago, put in the DVD and installed. When I click on Start>Crysis 2 a window pops up for Product Activation: "Welcome to the Crysis 2 Activation Wizard" > Next >
Serial, Please enter the serial number that you received with Crysis 2: _____________

I've tried several time, checking carefully each digit and dash. Click Next and get this message:
The serial number you entered is invalid. Contact customer support for more information
There's a link but there's no information or way to report this to EA, just a generic 'HELP' page with no relevant info that I can see.

Is there an issue at EA regarding activation?

Also, why wasn't there an option for a desktop icon? Did I do something wrong during the installation process? Isn't this game connected to Origin, wouldn't there be an installation process/or connection to Origin?

Are you certain you are entering the serial code and not the Limited Edition code? The serial code is on the back of the game manual IIRC. Also, this game is not intertwined with that Origin crap like BF3. You don't have to use Origin to play it thankfully.

wow, ok figured out the activation issue... my 'limited edition' came with 2 codes, one for the game the other for some content. what fun. The activation is complete and I've accessed the main menu.

Still, if you know how to add a desktop icon, I'm new to windows7

Windows 7 has a games folder on the Start Menu and Crysis 2 will be in there. If you go to the folder though you can drag out the icon to make a copy on your desktop.
