Small SMALL chance The Courier might be the Lone Wanderer?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 9:04 am

I know it seems very unlikely he doesn't have his vault suit + Other stuff but it might be a small chance? Think about it its 4 years
later anything could have happened to him..... Even if it isn't canon its a pretty good rp idea considering The Courier has no back story :)

What does anyone else think?

All I know is that Ulyssius wants me dead at the Divide (for some apparent reason). If he wants to die, then I can much ablige.

What does that have to do with anything?

It's kind of obvious that Ulyssius wants you dead because of who you are. It's called foreshadowing, dude.

Based on the Courier's dialogue and what little back story we do have, no it's not possible.

That's gamer-physics. Canon-wise, the Courier and the Lone Wanderer are unrelated. Besides, who makes their characters look exactly the same except for roleplay (non-canon, again) purposes?

I made my NV guy have a nice 5 o'clock shadow and a buzz-cut head - totally different from my F3 guy (long hair and a survivalist beard).

Talk to the Lonesome Stranger and ask him about his parents. One of the Courier's answers pretty much proves it's impossible he is the LW.

Technically, that stuff is only canon if you decide to make it canon in your playthrough by selecting that speech option. Your Courier can very well be from out east if you choose for him to be.

If the Courier is the Lone Wanderer, how do you explain the Courier's fairly common wise-crack remarks while asking people for info compared to the Lone Wanderer's bland "what's this do" dialogue? What, the Lone Wanderer found a personality somewhere between DC and Vegas?

Highly unlikely anyone would survive that trip and why would the LW leave he's god of the capital wasteland sitting on a hundred thousand caps and 20 tons of armaments, as for cannon the end decision lies with the developers and what they choose to carry forward. Why would you even want it to be the same guy? things end stories have different characters it wouldn't be any fun playing the same guy in every fallout game.

This is true, but there still, canonically, the Courier is not the Lone Wanderer. It would be silly, there is no reason for it, and it would be silly. Also, it would be silly.

You are right anything could have happened, but the LW getting older than 25. Fo3 had a set age to go with the story, this game has an age slider that kind of eliminates that possibility.

The Lone Wanderer is still chillin in his spaceship, unless more Aliens came and blew it up.

Yes. It's perfectly possible. And here's why:

If anything it's possible that The Chosen One is the Lone Wonder's father, which is James. There are some photos in one of the games FNV or F3. Also if Chosen One was 16 years old at the beginning of F2, then his age in F3 would have been the same as James'.

@Autoclave- It's POSSIBLE that The Courier is The Lone Wanderer because The Courier is whoever you want him/her to be. It's not possible for James to be The Chosen One because IIRC, he lives and dies after spending the rest of his life in New Arroyo.

If you want the Courier to be the Lone Wanderer, that's fine. But I don't, so my Courier isn't.
