Backroll quests?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:03 pm

Hi, i don't know if this is the right section but i didn't find any "help me, i screwed up" section so i'll post here.
Well, i recently discovered that i somehow managed to get the "the Houlse always wins V" quest, wich instantly fails the "don't tread on the bear" quest wich prevents me from doing all the fun NCR stuff.

Now, i could just load a save from before, but the problem is that i comleted the Dead Money DLC in anticipation of OLB (for various reasons i saw on an interwiev, dont want to spoil anything for others) and i don't want to play it all over again seeing how boring it is.

So, no i'm woundering if there are any console commands that will allow me to backroll the quests only so that i can play with the NCR and avoid murdering the BoS.

Iv'e tried the "resetquest xxxx" console command but evern when i reset the house always wins IV, V and don't tread on the bear, The "Don't tread the bear" automaticly completes, preventing me from going with the NCR

Or you could stop trying to cheat the game and play it the way it's meant to be played.
Willis forgive that you actually made a mistake that you're not pleased with.
How about saving that NCR stuff for your next playthrough instead?
Like me, first time I played New Vegas I didnt go into any casino (except forced to go to WGS) and I did not enter Kings hideout or go to Jacobstown.
Why?
Cause I wanted to save stuff for my next playthrough.
I advice you to do the same.

Anything is possible but you're looking at an extensive and confusing session with the console to reset all the different interlocking parts. If it was a side quest it would be relatively easy, but in this case...

Wow, you are really freaking aggressive. Not everyone has to play the game like you.

Gabe does have a point, though, since the idea behind the later parts of the main quest is that you have to pick who to back and then stick with it, and rolling things back somewhat defeats that.

That said, it's possible to make a save at certain points that will allow you to change who you want to support. The OP, however, is well past that point, since if following the House line your last chance to change your mind is during The House Always Wins, III (or IV, if you followed a rather labyrinthine path through certain side quests, which is rarely worth it), so his only recourse would be to reset certain quests.

As Momaw mentions, at the point the OP has reached it would be ludicrously complex to do this as there are a bunch of other quests that would also have to be altered. Given how long it would take to do all that, it would be faster and easier for the OP to make a fresh save to preserve the House line and then reload an earlier save that is at a point where he can switch to backing the NCR.

Yeah, but this is like the 4th playtrough and the only reason i made it is because i needed a clean start with hardcoe mod and some other enchanting mods. Iv'e loaded a save before wich luckely was only like 10h from my current one.

So now iv'e completed Dead Money again and im ready from OLB.

Thanks for... uhhh. Well, thanks!
