Cheating: Before I buy this game...

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 11:17 pm

I watched this video: [link removed] One of the video hows one player, standing still, sniping every opposing player, at range, without aiming, through walls..ect. My questions: Is the Crysis team working hard trying to stop the hacks? How rampant are the hacks? Do they ban players for hacking. For me... I am just sick and tried of buying a game and having majority of the players using hacks. I don't use them.. dont like them.. and will never buy a game where hacks are tolerated.

Thanks...

Nope, they've already given up support for this game

How rampant are the hacks?
I don't encounter many hackers. But your mileage may vary.
Also, if you're doing quite well some people accuse of hacking and start a vote-kick against you

Do they ban players for hacking?
If you report them they might. Read this thread for more details

It would surprise me that a developper like Crytek would just abandon its game to the hands of cheaters but I don't think they're working as hard as they should be on the situation either. Nevertheless, i've noticed a drop of cheaters in those last months if you ask me and now, I encounter one of them once a week only, tops. (which still is a nuisance considering the amount of players on Crysis2)
You'll always find them in any popular games so just deal with it and buy this amazing game at an amazing price.

P.S: I don't like the idea of calling them hackers because those people actually create the programs and infiltrate systems while these only do the downloading part and act as parasites.

Cheaters would be the correct term
I haven't played the game in a while so I guess I'm not the best source of information

Since i play every day for 3-6 hours at GMT+2 from 11-19 hours, yeap: there is a definately decrease of cheaters who use AIMBot etc.

But there are still who use Wallhack, NoSpread and probably unlimited energy (some of them are recorded by me - give me a new hdd, this one don't have enoguth amount for all videos xD).

Call of Duty? That's not a good choice. I think you should buy Crysis 2, but if you don't want to buy it, buy some of these games: Battlefield 3 , Skyrim, Serious Sam 3.

LOL @ that aimbot... is there anything you do in game when that's activated, or you just install it and let it wins the match for you? xD Those cheaters gone lower than lowest possible.
And how the hell you have found that hack site before you bought the game? You're preparing yourself for cheat-attack?
You shouldn't be advertising those sites and cheats. More damage then help.

There are few cheaters now and then, but not so many as few months before. I guess they moved to other games that came out.

You can record them (in higher qual.), upload video on YT, send links to crytek staff and hope they'll ban those cheaters (they probably will).

You should buy the game, but only if you like it a lot, and if you're patient enough to learn playing it for a while, because it's really hard to learn to play good.

"And how the hell you have found that hack site before you bought the game?"
Research...that simple. I have about 15 or some members of my clan that are looking for a game for everyone to play. Hacked games... are low on the list.
