A poll like this in the Skyrim forum is pretty much guaranteed to be biased.
I played Dark Souls in October, and Skyward Sword is arriving in the mail tomorrow... Dark Souls was an amazing experience, but not a true contender. Skyrim is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I have a feeling the match-up between it and Skyward Sword will be a tough call. Skyward Sword is being hailed as the best game in a beloved quarter-century-old franchise, got a 10/10 even from Edge Magazine, and also actually works and isn't riddled with bugs — that's a bit unfair to a hideously complex (behind the scenes) open-world game like Skyrim, but people in general don't see it that way.
If I had to guess, I'd say Skyward Sword is more likely to get the actual magazine GOTY awards than Skyrim. On the other hand, after I finish Skyward Sword I'll probably never replay it, whereas Skyrim (PC) will end up lasting me a lot longer.
A games complexity is no excuse for a game to be riddled with bugs. If they needed a another year to release a game that worked out of the box, I would rather have waited then my experience with SKyrim be ruined because of a day one game glitch, freeze, corruption, clipping issues with dragons, quest lines broken etc. etc. etc. That is like saying a BMW has a lot of technology but "it's ok that the tire falls off", were as a Honda that is very simplified and nothing happened at all. Sorry, I don't buy that excuse.
