Let me buy Helgen

That place has been deserted, and would make a GREAT DLC. Most of us are richer than the entire empire, so need somewhere to invest some moneys.

Repair and rebuild, so i can be a Jarl!!

You can't be a Jarl of Helgen. It's a fort or town, not a hold.

That's like saying you want to be President of London.

You have broken my dream, but good point. I'l settle for just being a leader, of sorts.

Then I have done my duty.

But I get what you're saying. And I can vaguely support it. But it's just not the type of DLC I'd want. I'd rather have a town in whatever the DLC areas end up being than just a town we've already been to.

What if you had the option of making it a Stormcloak, Impreial, or neutral base? That way you would have a slight bit of control of a slight change.

I didn't use any exploits, i'm just a natural scrounger and empty most dungeons. Most of my Draugr drop ebony items, so pretty easy, plus i've got about 150hours of scrounging too.

That would be cool but it would have to be done right.

First of all, running a town like that would mean no more adventure. The DLC could force you to sit in a chair during the day, listening to your adviser and townsfolk with their issues, which you would have a wide assortment of conversation options to choose from to solve said issues. At night, you might be able to take some time off for yourself and roam a garden or some such.

If you happened to sneak out for adventure or to follow the main plot, you'd soon find your position of power failing in Helgen as others move pieces to get you out of power, sending assassins and the like after you or simply using the people against you - you want to run Helgen, then why are you out being the Dragonborn? The townsfolk need a leader yet you are not one because you're never around, more concerned about your crafting or loud shouts.

You say that like these things are static. There's no reason Helgen can't *become* a hold with it's own Jarl (although I'm sure whatever Jarls' territory you annex into your domain would be pretty ticked). Perhaps Ulfric or the Empire give you it as a reward for your leal service during the civil war? Perhaps you overthrow whatever Jarl that Helgen previously was in fealty too, and you move the 'capitol' of your region from the previous Hold (was it Falkreath, I guess, that Helgen would have been subservient to?) to Helgen, making it the new Hold, and "demoting" the previous hold. I mean, there's options, the world changes, and politics especially so.

Helgen is such a waste of space. Its bigger than a few of the holds in the game but it goes to waste. Doesnt anybody care to try to rebuild this town in the least? Its like all the towers all over the place filled with bandits. Im sure theres some lore to explain why bandits basically rule the land out side of towns, but sometimes its too much. Why dont the Jarls care about rebuilding or taking back towers? Weird.

In Dragon Age DLC, you could take over a fort and fix it up. It was very minimalist, but it was fun. You got to make rulings and settle disputes, and you had to quest for upgrades, like finding a certain rock deposit out in the world for you mason to make better walls, ect.

At the beginning of the game, I could see how this would leave you a bit cash poor, but later in the game, enemies start to drop a lot of gems, ebony weapons, magic items, etc which fetch a pretty high price. Even just looting, you should be pretty rich after about level 35ish. Also, if you loot absolutely everything, you can still get quite a lot of money, even early. I think Bleak Falls Barrow, at the start of the game, netted me about 600 gold from selling all those ancient nord swords, leather armors, etc. Granted, it's tedious looting every item (think it took me about 4 trips), so I can definitely see where someone only might loot a small amount of higher-value items and just leave everything else on the corpses. If you did that, you'd probably be pretty poor for a pretty long time.

It could be fun to command an outpost, send some guys out to hunt, others to mine, others to farm. It would be a game within a game.
I especially love how you slouch "like a boss" in your "jarl" chair. So I'd sit there and give orders while Lydia peels graqes for me.

yeah, you don't have to cheat or exploit anything to get rich in Skyrim. Some of my greatest RP moments in this game are being deep in a dungeon, picking up every piece of crap I can find, and finally full and can hold no more.
Do I keep walking really slow? Do I drop those wooden platters? It's fun. Can't you just picture some guy deep in an underground cave, rooting through his pack and troubling over what in there he's going to toss out.

There will most likely be a mod for this at some point by some genius, like the rebuild Kvatch mod, if there is no DLC. Would be perfect for a DLC though I agree. Not to become the "owner" of the town though, just an in depth questline to rebuild it - and a house there of course!

This would be especially cool for my dragonborn character who is from Helgen :celebration:

We should be able to marry Elisef in Solitude. That makes us Jarl. Then we can discuss being a High King, too.

Now that's an idea. Though I don't see how Elisef would marry a lowborn... unless of course he is the dovahkiin! Sorry female dovahkiins. Though maybe Elisef swings both ways...

Females - marry Ulfric and choose to be the new ruler beside him. With that way, your choices mean more.
