Black Screen and Sound after DX11 Patch

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 9:24 pm

Crysis2 v1.0 runs
Crysis2 v1.9 runs
but as soon as I install the DX11 Pack and enable it and restart Crysis2 I don't see a Video or login but I hear all the sounds.

Win7 64bit
3GB GTX580 newest drivers
2600k @ 4500
16GB ram
x-fi Sound
z68 Chipset, Virtu and 3 Monitors (24", 19" + 50" TV on the Intel Graphics)
All drivers up to date, its a new System, set up a week ago

Rock stable 24/7 in every other Game and Benchmark.

And yes...I bought it legally, no cracks or anything.

I did 3 reinstalls...always the same..

Anyone got a hint what to do?
Thanks

Are you using graphics cards for all those monitors? Or what? and what kind of graphics cards. Direct X 11 will only work for the newest graphics cards and gpu's that can handle graphically intense 3D images with high fps. What about your v-sync? is it enabled or no? Try running the game without the X11 enabled and see if it works. If it does then it's your graphics cards or "GPU". You could try just using one monitor with it and if it works try another. I bet it probably fails with the television.

I know u said rock stable 24/7 but try underclocking the card and see if that makes any difference.
Maybe download DX11 patch again?

OK an other Forum where there are some people who can't read...
What do you think a GTX580 is?
So I will help your education...a GTX580 is the newest and most powerful single GPU Nvidia graphics card there is right now. There is a 1.5GB version and a more expensive 3GB Version and I got the later, Which I wrote for you to READ!
V-Sync is on but it makes no difference.
I can run it with DX11 disabled....but why the heck should I?
The Nivida Card uses the two Monitors...and the onboard Intel GPU is connected to the TV. Which I too wrote..and I even named the Chipset z68 which would have been sufficient Information for someone who read what I wrote before posting a useless reply.

@WalterWhite1337
been there done that. Default clocks @ GTX580 and CPU, more vcore even at standard....
same problem.
Its no error or lockup...I can STRG+ALT+DEL open the Task Manager and Quit the game, no driver error or some such
And yes I downloaded every patch at least twice from different servers with a download manager on my 100mbit cable. MD5 matches....

weird.. umm so u never had similar problem on other dx11 applications?
i would still try underclocking the card rather than running at default with increased vcore.
maybe try different nvidia drivers.

you can edit the game.cfg(c:\user\saved games\crysis 2) to enable/disable DX11, change resolution, etc.. if you have same problem and can't change the settings cos you can't see anything.

No other Problems.
BF3 runs for hours at maximum settings without a problem and this is also a DX11 game.

Thanks for your tip with the cfg file.
I switch from dx11 to dx9 and it works, high textures and all, if I switch back to dx11 I get a black screen.

I tried underclocking AND overvolting at the same time...just to be sure...its not a stability problem.

I even installed the newest Beta driver just now...but it does not help.

And actually Latency's idea about isolating to one monitor ONLY is a good one.

yeah right...I will find an other solution for playing all my other games and videos on my TV just cause one **** buggy game does not work with my setup and only in DX11.
But just for the thrill of it I been there and done that...guess what....no change

With half intelligent suggestions like this I get "snotty" as much as I like.

Suit yourself. Good luck with that. It seems unlikely at this point that you will be able to solve this problem.
