I just started game on xbox and new patch was available, so I downloaded it. I thought it is not going to be out for console today so I am confused. How can I check my version on xbox?

Pause menu>System Tab>Bottom left corner under menu options. Turn gamma up if you cant see it.

Logged on to the xbox as soon as I saw your post. It did a major dashboard update, but no Skyrim patch. :sadvaultboy:

Different update. Also, the Skyrim patch being released for Xbox is completely in Microsoft's hands now.

Something i can't wrap my head around is - how can anyone confuse a system update for a game patch?

I mean, doesn't the whole new XBL interface give it away a little? We're not talking about little tweaks here n there, it's a whole new interface ffs! I had no clue we were getting the XBL update today, yet it was VERY obvious that it was a LIVE update and not a game update. The forum is littered with posts asking if it was a new Skyrim patch. I just don't get it.

Pretty sure it is XboxLive Dashboard update, NOT 1.3 for xbox360.
