Alchemy worth using with zero perks?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 12:14 am

Looking at doing a barbarian build and I am torn on my perks. I need healing of some kind and barbarians do not use magic so naturally I need to go alchemy. Is alchemy worth using without perks on Master difficulty? Will I survive without them? I plan using alchemy either way as my method of heals and spell like abilities but the question is if it is effective what-so-ever with zero perks.

Here is what i am looking at with perks

and without

Store bought and found healing potions are better anyway, even fully perked at 100 alchemy.

Also level 50 is not a hard cap, you can go to 81 on consoles, potentially unlimited level on modded PC.

I suppose you're going to have Healing Potions that heal for cca 50 health, compared to 130hp that I currently have.

Whether it's worth it or not is up to you to decide. It's going to help, but is it worth the time, no idea. As it is already, Alchemy requires a lot of tabbing, even if you use hotkeys.
But if you don't use Restoration you don't have much of a choice, you have to heal somehow. Food is even worse.

It's fine without perks, provided that you have the right ingredients for the potions/poisons you want to make. It might level you quite quickly, though ... That may or may not be what you want. Fair warning.

Considering you can drink 30 gallons of potions in one sitting, I'm sure it will work just fine. :whistling:
