Trying to sell some of my old apparel to a shopkeeper. Thing is when i go to sell, the items arent listed, even tho i have them when i go into the items menu

Is that normal? The guy selling has enough money too

He is not interested that item so it will not show up to sell try someone else.

Different merchants will buy different types of gear. Generally, smiths will buy your weapons and armor, but will not buy normal clothing or jewlery. There is usually a "general store" merchant in every area who will buy pretty much everything.

Also keep in mind that normal merchants will not buy stolen items, and NO ONE will buy quest items.

Make sure the items are not stolen. If they are not, then try the General Store in Whiterun, or the clothing shop in Solitude.

It depends on what it is. Blacksmiths don't buy clothes which includes mages gear. try selling it at a general trader like Belethor in Whiterun?
