Aela The Huntress Unfindable?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:14 pm

On my Wood Elf character named Bedron, I got the issue that I can't find Aela The Huntress. I need to find her to bring her back her shield for the Taking up Arms quest. She isn't in the living qourters down Jarvskar and I can't find her in Whiterun either. Does anybody know where I can find her?

I remember reading somewhere that there was a rare bug where Aela wasn't in the living quarters. Have you checked near the farm leading into whiterun? Aela, Varkas and Ria are there killing a Giant, they may not have returned.

I checked, but she is'nt there... It's very annoying... Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that I accpeted this quest a while ago? That she is gone now or something, or even dead?

Probably a stupid question but have you tried using the quest marker?

On my Wood Elf character named Bedron,

AH! There's your problem. You can't find her if you are named Bedron. Dang good thing you told us your characters name in the OP or we would have never figured this out.

More on topic - select the quest in your journal and follow the quest marker.

That's the whole problem, the quest marker is bugged and sent you to a place west of Whiterun, near some giants and mammoth's, and she isn't there.

I have seen the quest marker bug before. Always sending me in the opposite direction than I know I'm supposed to go. Maddening.

I would trying 24 hour waits in the feasthall. She should show up there.

You did talk to her after she killed the giant yes? She might be waiting there to give you some dialog about joining the companions (which you obviously are already doing).

I've seen this also but it was Farkas and two of the lesser recruits really far up north (not necessarily near Ysgramor). I had just found a new ruin and used the Aura Whisper shout and saw three humanoids approaching. I was kind of worried until I realized who it was and was like WTF? Really random seeing them in the middle of nowhere.

Sooo, chances are that she could be anywhere on the map? I'm lvl 17 now and I accepted the quest when I was like lvl 3, perhaps that does have to do something with it?
