Hey, I want to make a Mage type character, I have done so before basically using destruction on everything but after a while it didn't seem very fun and I felt a little bit weak. I want to make a character who does use some destruction magic but also bound weapons, probably one handed weapons and bows. How would I do this?
What sort of armor would this character use, I imagine light armor would be good for this.
Where should I put my perks, should I level restoration or any other skills like enchanting perhaps?
And what race would suit a character like this?
I don't really want to summon creatures from the conjuration tree, I'm only really interested in the weapons - unless the creatures you can summon are something pretty important of course?

For my mage character I found the summoned creatures pretty cool. They can take hits while you fire away. If you want to use the bow you could mix in illusion and conjuration to sneak about and what not.

I currently have a Breton character who mostly uses conjuration, alteration, one-handed and some archery, restoration, and alchemy. He dual-wields bound swords and summons creatures and uses a lot of alteration for defense. Planning on getting all perks in alteration and wears no armor and no weapons besides bound bow and swords. I've made 5 characters so far. this is my favorite. I'm planning on getting dual wielding perks in one-handed.

The key with this character is pick magic every level up. You have to be ready for battle before it happens. 1. cast ironflesh. 2. Summon atronach 3. Summon a sword in each hand. 4. rock and roll!
