Missing Dragon Priest mask...wtf?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 8:55 am

okay so I just finished the College of Winterhold Quests just after I went to Labyrinthian and picked up the Dragon Priest wooden mask that was laying on the ground in the time traveling hut that seems to do nothing really...but anyways so I was unloading a bunch of equipment in my new Archmage's Quarters and I decided to put the mask into one of the display cases then I shut the case and then continued on my marry adventures...soon my inventory was full so I journeyed back to unload some gear when I happened to look down in the case and the case was closed and empty?!?!?! Did the thieves guild decide to just steal that one item from me? Did the Dark Brotherhood assassin's take it as proof that they killed me because they were tired of being killed by me and just wanted the contract to be over with? or was it just another crappy glitch that plagues the game? any one else having items disappear on them?

oh and does anyone know if I need that mask to complete the dragon priest mask quest??

Sorry forgot to say this is the PS3 version.

That mask is required to finish the quest yes. You need all 12 (8 you find within the world I think).

But those display cases are meant for weapons - not other items I think? So it might be a glitch or it did what happened sometimes in Oblivion with the cases when it'd spit an item up and you'd sometimes find it somewhere on the floor in your house (or in some cases it'd just morph through the floor and vanish forever).

Well, I used to store some items inside my house in Whiterun...
After some time I bought a new house in Solitude, and all of my items were there.

I killed a priest and didn't get a mask from it, so I'm assuming they can just occassionally not appear? No idea.

They have to be certain priests, because I believe I had the same thing in one or two dungeons, but I was still able to finish the quest.

Same EXACT thing happened to me, however I found the mask on the floor behind the unopened display case which was very difficult to spot and took a bit of mouseover to finally pick it up. I don't know if this instance will repeat itself for you, just know that it isn't necessarily lost forever. I freaked out thinking it and the Krosis mask I put inside were gone for good. :/ Display cases svck.

Lol I win? And I would not put masks in cases because I think those are more unrelaible and theyre designed for weapons actually.

I have all of em', honsestly the thing you get afterwards is not that impressive

But if you are interested in it, the wooden mask is the most important.
