It's merely an illusion. Most people who are enjoying the game are, well, playing it.

Agreed. Oblivion became GotY 5-6 years ago, and NOBODY knew about it! AT ALL!

People have been promoting it via word of mouth. That's where I heard it most, and the internet. But there is EASILY way more people playing Skyrim then Oblivion when it released. HELL, it's #2 in sales! $500 MILLION! If that doesn't say anything then IDK.

Did you EVER see Fallout 3 or New Vegas do that? OR for that matter a Bethesda game AT ALL make that kinda cash? NOPE.

IMHO Bethesda PERFECTED the experience, and simplified it for newcomers. Formula this time is gorgeous, everything about it. I just hope all of it doesn't go to Beth's head! Take this in stride, please! Your the ONLY game competing in sales with MW3. BF3, Uncharted, Arkham City, NONE of them remotely comes close.

AND it's a SINGLE PLAYER game, contending with a wide-known Multiplayer fan-based game! That's a feat in itself and deserves recognition! Don't think so? gtfo then..

Speaking as a PC player - the game has bugs and glitches (worse than some games, better than plenty of others) but+ I have found it to both be finished and playable (and have been solidly playing since I got it) - and hugely enjoyable. Extreme fun.

If I could give some sort of "official" GOTY it would go to Skyrim. As I can't I am more than happy to declare it my own personal GOTY.

When I see a game is getting all kinds of complaints about it being buggy at release I know that usually means it is a good game.

What is wrong with some of you? Are you really so entitled as to think this is the worst game ever made? It's pretty damn good and the bugs will be fixed. Maybe you don't remember what Fallout 3, Morrowind, and Oblivion were like on release. A game this huge with so much content and scripts and everything else is going to have hiccups that need ironed out. It is perfect? No, but it's pretty damn good and undoubtedly one of the best games in recent memory.

I've noticed most of the people blindly defending Bethesda joined after the release date too.

I don't think a game that many users are finding unplayable due to game crippling bugs should win GOTY. Of course, now I'm going to get 20 people saying "Well, I haven't seen any bugs at all." Good for you, but that doesn't change that fact that some of us can't play the game for more than 30 minutes without unbearable stuttering.

So it has a few bugs....it still deserves game of the year. Otherwise...why the hell are you here?

Just so you all know this Thread is in the PS3 Hardware forum and was moved but it's still in that forum that's why your seeing all this Skyrim hate being PS3 owners can't even play the game properly. Just wanted to let you all know why being most of you in general forum play on PC.

Its sad isn't it? I'll be starting the search for a new forum soon...too tired of people spending every waking minute on the forums of a game they hate. I remember hating DA2 with every fibre of my being, but IIRC, I didn't spend a second on their forum complaining; I instead went back to playing games I enjoyed, and posting on their respective forums. I guess we can't expect that sort of logic from everyone though.

Again, just because we don't think Skyrim deserves GOTY, doesn't mean we don't like it. I liked Skyrim up until my save file hit 10MBs and the game became unplayable. A game with issues like this doesn't deserve GOTY.

You should know this forum is full of almighty pricks. They don't think anything they find displeasing is entitled to anything positive. I have my complaints with the game but I would never go as far as saying it's not my favorite game of the year and say it svcks.

Pretty sure the Skyrim haters are secretly the most devoted players.

If it's really that bad of a game: delete it off your computer, break your discs, throw them away, never play it again, and never come back to this site again. But the haters will probably not do that. They will probably continue playing for 200 more hours, leveling up, bashing monsters, making potions, smithing armor and weapons, enchanting their own gear, slaying dragons, doing guild quests, etc. all the while complaining loudly about how much this game svcks that they just can't seem to stop playing and talking about.

And since when was the only criteria for a GOTY being bug-free? There are a lot of bug-free games that work on all platforms, but they also happen to be awful and boring.

To report bugs, so that Bethesda may actually consider fixing them? Jeeze, I would think that's obvious. Why don't you go actually play Skyrim if it's working so well for you? I would think playing the game would be more entertaining than talking smack to the people who are having problems with it.

Nope. Haven't played since a few days before patch 1.2. My file got corrupted and I uninstalled the game.

AS I said, I dont really care. The matter that troubles me, is that I joined the forum to read interesting stuff about the game that I was enjoying SO MUCH, and I find THIS.... what I can say? The forum dissapointed me!!!
But well, some comments make me wish to post, like this thread.
And many can think it does not deserve GOTY , but most of them complain, complain, complain.... sick .
