okay, so for my current side character I wanted to have her in good reputation with the strip, I also wanted to get the pimp-boy 3 billion from Mick by getting the Omerta's to buy weapons from them. I know you can get Big Sal to do it by helping him, but that lowers my rep in freeside, but by helping Cachino instead it didn't give me the option of getting him to buy the guns, so I loaded a previous save, & am wondering if I can get the gold pip-boy while still keeping my strip rep @ idolized. Any suggestions? (PS3 version so I cant use console commands)

I'm sure you could talk to Big Sal and convince them to buy, and then side with Cachino. I forget how to do it exactly, but i've done it before because I've only sided with them once.

Another way to get it if you want to side with Cachino is to talk to him about Troike. Then go up to the suites and go to the room with the dead hoker in it. You will need a Medicine skill of 35 or higher to examine the body. Once done go to Troike and ask him about the hoker (do not ask him about the guns). There is a medicine check in the conversation you need a Medicine skill of 30 to pass. Once done offer him to talk to Big Sal still without asking him about the guns. Talk to Big Sal and get him out of the contract by paying him the 300 caps not the Barter or Speech checks. Tell Troike the good news and he'll tell you about the guns. Go back to Cachino and finish the quest. Then go back to Mick and he'll say thank you for clearing up what the Omertas were doing when you first talk to him. There should then be an option saying the Omertas will be buying from them again. Mick will award you with the Pimp-Boy 3 Billion.

Does the Pimp-boy do anything new and interesting or is it just purty? I got it once, but my game glitched and I couldn't get into the Strip anymore without the save corrupting.

Only thing different is that it's gold plated, and the buttons are newer. That and with Wild Wasteland, whenever it's put on, you hear disco music.

It is a nice change of pace.
