Now that patch 1.3 is out for PC, when is console get it?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 7:28 am

I wasn't around (and didn't have the game yet) when patch 1.2 came out, but I heard that, like this current patch, it came out on pc 1st. How long after did it come out for console? and how do you think this patch will be? a day, a week?

Your facts are all screwed up. I highly recommend skipping this game unless you can play it on your PC.

I haven't posted any facts? And I got Skyrim after patch 1.2 but avoided it because of the issues it makes.

Your English comprehension kinda svcks. Your "fact" about the patch 1.2 coming out on PC first is wrong, it came out last on PC.

Yeah, reading back on my post and I can see the syntax is actually very bad, sorry (late night). I guess I was miss told then, but do you know how when the patch might be out?

I am almost certain ps3 got it first last time, not 100% sure though. Anyway we are waiting for Bethesda to get approval from Sony and Microsoft then we are good to go. Also the patch isn't gonna do much for us ps3 users. There are some major issues going on and after seeing the release nord on the patch I don't see any hope. The bug patch for ps3 will be later on. This new patch should only take a day or two tops to be approved. I think the main fix this patch has to offer is the radiant quests bug. Beyond that I sure its just to make the game run a little smoother. If you bought this game on ps3 like I did you should sell it back and buy it for pc if possible. I would of but I'm not in a position to hook my computer up as its packed away until we move.

The straightforward non-snarky answer is that the patch usually comes out on the console about a week after the PC, sometimes quicker. They have to submit the patch to the console makers for their approval. The console companies don't actually test it for gameplay testing, etc, they just make sure it doesn't break anything on their networks/systems.

1.2 was released on PS3 followed by 360 and then PC. 1.3 was released today on PC and will be released at a later date for the PS3 and 360 because they have to be submitted to Sony/Microsoft for review (standard approval process for any patches on the consoles) before they can be pushed live. Future patches will all be on PC first, again due to the approval process required for the consoles.

Apparently this was a difficult question for many people to answer. Hopefully this answers your question.

I think the first two fixes says why they released the patch for the PC as soon as they had it available:

?General stability improvements
?Optimize performance for Core 2 Duo CPUs (PC)

This should solve the horrible lag encountered in multi-core PC systems...it's not good when an i7 extreme gets bogged down by a console game. It also sounds like their next patch is going to make use of up to 4GB of RAM...I'm not sure that should be a priority over fixing game problems for example correctly interfacing with the mouse & keyboard so that all mouse clicks and keyboard presses are registered properly. But, at least they are working on fixing the game and actually releasing patches as soon as they have them.

The patches for the consoles have been submitted to Sony and Microsoft for validation, a process which takes a few days according to Bethesda. Once the patches have passed validation, they'll be made available on PSN and XBox Live.
