120% Blocking damage reduction not doing much

So I've enchanted my stuff with a total of Block 120% more damage with your shield, and I'm still taking damage during blocking. Does anyone know if Blocking absorption has a cap?

Because for obvious reasons effects like that are caped in the 80%-90% range. Bethesda did learn why it's bad to allow players 100% anything in Oblivion.

80% cap I believe. Some people love it some people hate it. If you hate it, hopefully you are on PC.

Blocking 120% more damage means that you're blocking 120% more than your original damage value, not that you're blocking 120% of incoming damage.

Ah I see. Yes, that makes sense.

I don't really mind either way, I just wanted to know what the haps were, since a cap of 80% would mean that I can spend the redundant 40% enchantment slot on something else.

I've never seen anything which confirms it, but the wiki thinks that the default block is 50% damage reduction. *If* that's true, and *if* the block cap is 80%, then you would need +60% block to be capped (because 60% of 50% is 30%). Seems a bit odd it should be so easy to reach though.
