Help me power level enchanting so I can...

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:34 am

...keep Aela alive. I am not going to enchant a single thing for myself because I don't want the game to be too easy. I am finding my warrior is a perfect fit for expert level right now, however, Aela can't take the heat. I want to enchant her stuff so she doesn't die as easily. I don't want her to be able to do more damage to help me out, I just need her to stay alive, so I am thinking fortify health, health regen, elemental resistances. Thoughts?

How do you power level enchanting? I don't want to look it up because I always get some sort of stupid spoiler or piece of information I would rather have found out myself. Thanks.

The way i power level requires high level alchemy , so that you can afford the expensive soul gems (as grand soul gems cost like 1000 gold , depending your speech , up to 1500 gold for a single one ) .

Basically , i make a tourney of all general merchants (and alchemists for ingredients) of Skyrim to buy as many soul gems as possible (of all types , and already with a soul in it of course ) in exchange of my home made potions (slow , paralysis , health and magica regen and a few others are worth more than 1200 gold a piece , sometimes more than 2000 gold )

Once you get a big stock of soul gems with souls in it (like 100 of them and as many grand soul gem as possible cause they give more enchanting xp when you use them ) , you head to the forge , and start spamming leather bracers ( 1 leather , 2 leatherstrips ) or iron daggers , and also make a big stock of those

Then you head to the enchanting table and enchant all your leather bracers and iron daggers with health absorb or fortify one hand , spam them and your enchanting level should go up pretty quickly . You can also turn up a profit by selling them . Rince and repeat until you get to 100 .

Quit bumping.

Pick up every ring and bit of light armour you find and then go tackle a dwarven ruin for filled low end soul gems. Then enchant all the low end armour and jewelry and either sell it, or dump it.

Step 1. Hoard Soul Gems to an unreasonable level. Never sell one.

Step 2. Get yourself a Soul Trap enchanted weapon and start fillin' dem Soul Gems.

Step 3. Enchant every piece of apparel and weapon you can carry with anything lower than a Grand Soul. Doesn't matter with what enchantment, they all level you up just as fast. Banish and Fortify Sneak will get you the most bang for your buck though.

Step 4. Slap on dem enchantments for Aela. get her something flashy. Girls like that kinda stuff. Fortify Light/Heavy Armor > Magic Resistance > Fortify Health > Health Regen. (imo)

Step 5. ????

Step 6. PROFIT!

Pick or make loads of petty and lesser soul gems, you can even make simple junk jewelry with basic smithing. Use a quick enchantment like absorb HP or soul trap and make loads of them and sell. Also get alot of iron and leather and make crappy iron daggers and do the same process. There you have enchant skill points and make a profit.

if you don't wanna end up leveling smithing, also buy cheap clothing at the Clothes store in Solitude.

I took her out once and she died in the first encounter with a silly scavenger on the side of the road, near Whiterun. I was heartbroken! I rezzed her, then headed back to Whiterun, only to be met by a courier delivering the jarl's letter stating that he was sorry she died and I inherited her money. (Scripting is a little out of whack.) I was heartbroken again, despite she was standing behind me!

I gave her the essential 1 stat via the console. She'll never die again, though she takes a beating on occasion because she runs ahead of me to attack large mobs.

It takes a lot of time to clear dwarven ruins for soul gems , and it also takes quite some time to get your souls "manually" by using soul trap (unless you kill your own summons maybe , that should be much faster providing you have plenty of empty soul gems already , well i did not play a conjurer yet so i can't say ) , but i think it's faster to just buy the soul gems if you want to "power level" which i thought is levelling the skill in minimum time
