Nightingale & DB Armor qeustion, please help!

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 5:52 am

I just started a Thief type of character, I wanted to immediately join Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild for both Nighting Ale and DB Armor sets. Thing is I'm hearing the enchantments value will be dependant on what level you are. And not it won't scale with my level? What level do both items get the best enchantments possible? I don't want to get the armor sets and then later on finding out my armor is obselete because it won't scale...

I found a mod called: ''Enchantable Unique Armours and Reclassified Masks''.
It removes stats/enchantments from Nightingale allowing you to customize it to your own liking. Do you think this is a good alternative to the problem?

DB armor is bad and stays bad. The ng bow is scaled to your level and I believe the cap is rather high, not sure how high though. No idea about the mod since I play vanilla atm sorry.

Actually DB armor seemed quite good to me, double backstab dmg and bows more damage. I personally thought it has better stats then Nightingale but DB armor looks crap not to mention the shrouded cowl is bugged mask not showing. Also been hearing of it messing up your game due to being mixed with other headpieces. I have no idea since I haven't tried myself, but heard to stay away from that item.

Thanks thats usefull.

Nightingale looks too badass to pass up. My plan was to go DB temporarily untill I'm high level enough, both smithing and enchanting being 100 I will take Nightingale install the mod to remove the stats so I can customize it myself. I'm just worried about shrouded cowl bugging out my game.

The DB armor is awesome if you're not planning on getting hit, because it boosts your damage. The Nightingale armor is the coolest looking armor around, but I really dislike its enchantments regardless of how it's scaled. I go DB all the way until I can double-enchant my own armor. Even then I'd still use the gloves.

Exactly my thoughts.

But removing stats from Nightingale with this mod:

I can enchant customizing the most powerfull gear. I have done same on my Warrior, don't see why Assassins were left out from that choice.

Anyways, can anyone comment on how exactly DB shrouded cowl armor bugs out?
TESwiki says the following:

''Makes weapon and armor effects null, also resets some skill trees. Removing the cowl does not fix this, only going to a previous save where you never wore it does. (PC)''

This concerns me, is it true?
