No what I'm saying is what is the great difference between kiting a mob and killing it to kiting a mob into a trap and killing it?

Personally I don't see either as cheap, myself.

I guess it depends where you draw the line, and everyone has to draw their own. Personally I don't see either as cheap either - I mean, i'm an Archer. I have to kite, most things 2 shot me. In saying that I do wish the AI was a lot better at dealing with rocks etc, as Mammoths especially are just far too easy to kite.

I don't know why someone would consider a 40min kiting battle cheap versus a 1 second instagib on a trap. Surely you've expended more effort and are more worthwhile of a victory in the case of the 40mins of kiting? I haven't come across a mob that'd take me 40mins to kill, or even 5, but using his example...

I simply don't see the logic in saying, "You're using the AI against itself." I'd love to hear of a game where this isn't the case. Isn't that what we, as gamers, do? We use our superior human intellect vs the lolstupid AI in order to prevail vs extreme odds. Maybe i've been doing it wrong all these years.

Completely agree with you, was just trying to figure out what the difference in the two was for the guy saying one is ok and one is cheap.
