I loved It when he gave Riften without hesitation in Season Unending (Awesome multithreaded quest, BTW). I also got robbed twice by Imperial troops and decided to join the SC.

Sure they were actual Imperial Troops? Or were they named "Soldier" and had a little off look to them? Oh, and of course had a few corpses around them/off to the side of the road.

you got robbed by imperial troops?

I remember one time north west of Solitude I ran into these 3 "Imperial Soldiers" who demanded I pay a toll to continue down the road. Next to these 3 dudes were 3 looted bodies so I assumed that these were mere bandits posing as the imperial troops they killed.

Yeah, that's exactly what happened. I thought the corpses were there since the first time I got robbed, when I didn't notice them. I love the ammount of details the game offers...

If you're with the Stormcloaks by then, that little event has a cool extra dialogue option, something along the lines of this:

"Only three legionaries against one Stormcloak? Hardly seems fair"

What made it more awesome was being clad in the Stormcloak Officer Uniform.

The way they speak. THAT'S how they got busted immediately

imperial soldier : "Stop! you need to pay a fine to use this road!"

(fake) soldier : "yeah er... This road er... you need to pay a fine to er... walk on it, you know..." (also note that he's the only orc you will EVER see in imperial armor
