Best Spellsword build?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:39 am

Hey guys, as the title states I was wondering what your suggestions for the best spellsword build possible.

I've been playing an Imperial for the past 30 hours and have just reached level 22. I've been focusing on One Handed (61) Destruction (58) Restoration (43) and Heavy Armor ( 58) I've been throwing the basic perks to sneak, speech and lockpick.

I enjoy playing with this build, but it seems it takes me way TOO long to level. What would you guys suggest?

Hmm. Curious to hear responses.

I just started a spellsword build, and have been going Destruction, One-handed, Restoration, Light Armor, and basic Smithing and Enchanting stuff.

I really like alteration and conjuration. The creatures you summon are AWESOME! And alteration because of paralyze, detect life, flesh spells, light spells, and all the others I forgot to mention. I actually really like destruction too and am still using it at lvl 60. I use lightning/fire both perked fully. I don't use thunderbolt or incinerate but rather chain lightning and fireball, mainly because I like hurting many enemies at once. Also the wall spells will help because you can cast AND hit with your sword at the same time. I'd also say illusion but that's just me and illusion is more for the sneaks like my night blade.

My Spell-Sword build is probably the best.

Only use bound weapons as your defense and CQ offense plan, use your ranged spells as mid-to-long range attacks, consentrate mainly on your Destruction and Conjuration as you primary, Restoration, One-Handed and Heavy Armour are your secondary skills, Alteration, Illusion, Enchanting, Alchemy are you low priority skills so work on them when nothing's going on.

I agree, get mystic binding in conjuration. And since I leveled smithing as well I don't use the bound sword anymore. I have a leg ebony sword with soul trap. But you'll find what suits you best. What suits me best and what suits you best will be different. Play around with it and have fun!

Conjuration(bound sword takes advantage of your one handed skill and perks and has perks to increase damage, soul trap automatically, and banish. Using it also levels up your conjuration and one handed.) Heavy armor(for protection) Restoration(for healing yourself and allies) Destruction(if you want to have sort of an anti-mage build, you can specialize in using lightning, which depletes an enemy's magicka as well as doing damage) Smithing(to improve your armor, not needed since you're using a bound weapon and magic) enchanting(to add damage to your one handed, to compensate for the lack of ability to forge bound weapons).

I personally prefer the Bound Sword, I've got the Bound Weapon part of the tree maxed and I have my blade up to level 63 so I deal quite alot of damage to my enemies.

And I don't use melee as much as I should, I prefer my Fireball spells, my Spellsword has became a fire throwing, weapon conjuring, dwarven plated locomotive.

Ya I used to LOVE the bound sword till the damage was 34 with BS to 57 with my ebony, I wish mystic binding could've been like three part and kept increasing it's damage. I just found myself getting destroyed and then I switched. But to each his own :)

Bound weapons start svcking quickly after level 30-ish. They are like Ebony which can't be smithed.

Pick Illusion for your magic. You will be able to have a sword in one hand and some sort of manipulation spell in another, like Fury, Calm, or Invisibility. Strike from nowhere and calm enemy or hide, cause chaos, deliver a few hits and disappear when it gets too hot. Silent casting and some basic sneak attacks will help you a great deal as someone who doesn't have dmg of a bowman or 2H/dual-wield and Illusion is really the best school of magic to have on your left hand instead of a shield.

My only regret for my spellsword is focusing on destruction/restoration. I'd focus on something else, like conjuration or alteration.

Bound weapons blow. As soon as you get any decent score in smithing regular steel swords beat them.

The sword does base 14 damage, which is easy to hit with steel weapons.

I pound out damage with high level destro spells until my mana is gone (After throwing down a stoneflesh), then I switch to duel swords (with smithing, dual ebony swords improved to legendary).

I trained/powerlevelled my alteration to 65 for paralyze (amazing spell) and I raised my illusion for my sneakier side. I'm slowly levelling enchanting. I don't want to break the game, but once I go over level 50, I basically want to be a God who can throw down master level destro spells forever.

I think that's pretty ideal.

http://chrizel.github.com/skyrim/#t/1/3ybif4,-8vn08w,m73iv8,o1k,27wr28,bgo,6cds,0

A stealthy sneak attacking spellsword build, but should handle everything with ease once key talents are picked up. Power gamed but w/out bothering with alchemy exploit.
Illusion is amazing for getting sneak attacks, and a dual daedric, or even ebony if you prefer it's looks, sword sneak attack is pretty deadly..
