Player Housing in Gomorrah?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 3:38 pm

I know you (unfortunately) can't win a suite in Gomorrah, but after doing a certain quest there's two nice suites just sitting there vacant. Does anyone know if at least one has safe storage?
While I'm here I might as well ask about other housing options.. are there any locations that have a bed + safe storage that aren't on this list?: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_player_housing

Well... I never considered the following place until recently...
Spoiler

You should check out both of the second floor rooms at El Rey Motel. One's even got a sink with only mildly (+5RAD/s) irradiated water.
Each room has a mostly clean look&feel and are brightly lit, for a change.
Stay clear of the ground floor room, as that will have respawning Bark Scorpions every few days.

The place makes for a nice secondary hideout where Jury Riggers can dump their loot,
until they have enough of everything to fix the best gear and when there's enough to be sold,
this place is near several of the best vendors.
And I'm positive it's not mentioned in the wiki housing list, just as Bison Steve Hotel (surprisingly) isn't.
Cheers!

I assumed all buildings and containers not marked red were safe.

I assumed all buildings and containers not marked red were safe.

Partially true. Some containers do reset when entering/re-entering a game cell.
Most containers inside buildings (interior cell) are safe, but stay clear of (some) suitcases and (most) filing cabinets.
Footlockers, safes, tool boxes, metal boxes, wardrobes... Those are mostly secure.
I've been (out of ingenuity) using dumpsters and thrash cans, but I was very lucky.
From experience, it's OK if you dump something and you retrieve it after a very short brief time (less than 1-2 in-game days).
As a paradox, it's better to dump things on the ground (inside a room) than to store them in an untrusted container...

Thanks. The reason I said Gomorrah is because I want a big house/room that looks nice. I don't really like the other suites you can win.. The Lucky 38 is too creepy and empty, the Ultra Luxe is too formal (and also creepy), and the Tops is too.. ring a ding haha. I'm going to get a bunch of Novac dinosaur toys, put one in each container and wait a few in game days. I'll probably do that to some other potential places too..

The Bison Steve Hotel is very large, has safe containers, a campfire, several beds and a mildly irradiated water source (+5RAD/s).
At least one reloading bench is not too far away. I cannot think of anything bigger and not owned already... With comparable loading screens :)

I've taken up in the novac hotel, kinda lame but it has the essentials inside, reloading table and workbench not too far from novac fast travel location. I've been thinking of moving my setup to the abandoned bos bunker the sierra madre starts in. Everything you could ever need is there, except a sink/bathroom.

Also any location that has one of the blue postal boxes near it works well. If your near another 1, you can mail supplies back to novac for example, and just pick then up from the old ladies hotel office. Works well with crafting weapon repair kit supplies or anything really.
