Evil character

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 4:43 am

I have a few quests I don't want to complete because they're evil. Don't want to play evil character so I'm wondering if I've done something wrong, there seems to be no options, once you recieve a quest, to abandon or to complete the quest with a 'good' outcome. I don't want to beat a priest to death or be a summoned assassin for a little kid. Is it just me or what?

If you never play an evil character then you will have to skip those quests. The assassin one is a joke, they could have least put in a "What? No Way!" response in teh dialogue!

There are some distasteful things you have to do in this game, all in the name of the bigger picture. However, most of the evil stuff is with one faction, and no it's not the Thieves.

As for the kid's teacher, that is the entree into a series of events that is considered to be evil, so you probably want to avoid that one altogether.

If you do the orphanage quest, you'll be able to kill the entire Dark Brotherhood.

Plus, the old bat is a complete and utter [censored]. You'd be doing the world a favour.

I wouldn't call murdering the orphanage owner in front of a bunch of little kids distasteful. Not one bit.... It was ever so enjoyable.

If you don't want to complete them....then don't.

It's really as simple as that.

And just about every conversation is one you can walk away from by just canceling out of it (B on the 360, dunno what cancels things on other systems).

Ive got a dozen quests in progress which is fine but it's messy when you can't even abandon the ones you want to forget about.
From what I remember of oblivion most quests had 'good' and 'evil' outcomes else it was obvious that a quest was good or evil before you accepted it.
Since you can't really influence the outcome of anything does that make the main character evil despite whatever 'good' actions he might do in the game.

First you don't need to kill the priest and second just do the quest, I won't spoil anything but it's for the greater good.

Unfortunately you often aren't give a lot of choice in these matters. You do the quest, or you don't. If someone gives you a quest you don't want to do I guess all you can really do is imagine you're character is saying "Ok... suuuuuure. I'll do that" as they back away slowly.

However sometimes a quest can surprise you - at the outset you think "how horrid" but if you look into it a bit you might find that it is actually a good thing you would be doing. Sometimes.

As said before, if you complete the "kid's one", you'll be able to favor the humanity by
Spoiler
destroying de Dark Brotherhood

In addition, if the other quest you mention is the one I think (the cannibalism one), again, you are able to choose the "right" way; the game often offers an alternative by using violent methods, wich in this cases and with your character would be more than welcome. Both quests, again if I don't misunderstand the "priest" one, allow you to do "good things" if you go through them.
