Skyrim: Any interesting finds or secrets?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 6:11 am

Hello, ever since I was a little kid I've been a devoted fan to Bethesda's games. Playing from Daggerfall up until Skyrim, I've loved all of Bethesda's games :tes: . However, although Skyrim is quite a lot of fun, I'm just finding it really dull. I'm tired of doing quests, delving into dungeons and collecting treasures all day long. So I'm asking kindly, do any of you know of any interesting places to visit, loot to steal, people to talk to etc. in Skyrim? I'd highly apprediate it, post your interesting find below. Thanks in advance! ^_^

Try gathering the wooden dragon masks, the weird gems, visit daedric shrines, look on internet where to start the unusual daedric ones, also I find the good old raid a bandit camp never really gettind old hehe

*edit* Im trying to get every reasonable achievement in the game atm, 15 daedric artifacts is probably abit too hard :P

I have found some neat things like an underwater tunnel not very big or anything, but it did have a chest with a few things in it like a filled common soul gem and hundred and sum gold. I think it was near the talos statue on an island near winterhold Ihave to recheck. What I do enjoy is random events happening like fleeing from a blood dragon that was giving me trouble into a fort bridged by another on the other side of a gorge. Ran into there for shelter killed a few bandits in my way then looked out a window to see imperials fighting bandits all being attacked by the same dragon while I later took shots at said dragon with my bow while it was distracted for a much easier kill.

If you're looking for interesting finds, start walking. It sounds obvious, but it's one of the best 'words of wisdom' out there. It's fun to have people point nifty things out to you, but it's even more fun to stumble across them yourself. I remember meandering along once and coming across a burning wagon with the bodies of a man and a woman lying dead beside it. I looked through the woman's belongings and found a journal detailing her husband's insistence that they make haste with their goods towards Solitude. She feared being attacked by bandits and didn't think the road from Whiterun to Solitude was safe - and she was right. Another time I found a journal in what looked to be an abandoned campsite that spoke of a cave its author was investigating in a nearby mountain. I located the mountain and found the author dead, a second journal entry describing the circumstances of his demise. And none of these random finds were linked to quests, either. They're just out in the world, ripe for the picking.

Have you ever came across the skeletal arm in a small pond holding an orcish sword?

You can find two hagravens performing the rite to transform a forsworn into a Briar Heart at a certain place. The headless horseman was a cool encounter. At first I saw this ghost on a horse and thought meh, just a ghost on a horse, but when I got closer saw he didn't have a head and loled.

Met the headless hourseman too, also an orc wanted me to kill him... so I did. Found lots of funny things and leads killing bandits and clearing caves, to chests and journals. Also quite like exploring the heights, especially foresworn camps, though I hate the briar hearts.
