Not that I know of, but it can be assumed that the French-speaking portions of Canada was annexed; just like the English-speaking portions.

i think when they speak about canada they mean all of canada no matter how much quebec doesnt want to be canadian

I would assume that in a Fallout Canada, there would be no official French language, and instead Quebec would be fairly Loyalist/English speaking!

Actually, that would be the opposite.
Quebec has remained French since its occupation by the British Empire. Being annexed to an english-speaking nation would not change anything.
Heck, event he British tried to make us loyal and english-speaking only after their Great Conquest... didn't work at all.

You'd most likely have more "Frenglish" speaking people, but not English-only.

I hate to tell you this but FRANCE does not what Quebec they hate you guys. They don't see you as real french! We English kicked your ASS. You lost the war and now you have to deal with it. If you guys ever did get your independence then only the area around Quebec City would be yours to rule. The rest of Quebec was given to you guys as a provinces by us English. So your new Nation would be so damn small and the rest of Quebec would become New Ontario or something.
You guys have had your referendums and most of you wanted to stay.
I loved how the leader of the lets leave Canada movement were like "well we will become are own Nation! but we will still use Canadian money and Canadian passports." That is because they know of they did get their independence you would become bankrupt and would have to pay back Canada your share of the National Dept.

Anyways in the Fallout world America would not let you guys keep talking French.

So you're saying that the American government looking over French Canada, would kind be pulling what the English (In the UK, not Canada) tried on the Welsh? A little history lesson, back in the 19th Century, English didn't care much for Welsh, and enacted what became known as the "Welsh Not" where anyone who spoke Welsh in schools would be punished (lashings, and whatever.) It didn't really work out, but it was carried out to some extreme in Welsh/English Schools.

Most Canadians don't learn french we have to take it to grade 9 but after that like 98% of Canadians out side Quebec, New Brunswick and Ottawa drop it and forget all they ever learned. Most canadians don't know FRENCH, are leaders speak it to make Quebec happy and to be politically correct and polite Canadians.

I never said America would have success in trying to get the French to stop speaking French. English Canada can't get them to stop so good luck to Fallout America

I think he was trying to establish the fact that as a whole Canada is part of the ENGLISH Commonwealth. Its just a tad bit strange that French Canadians seem determined to remain different when no one would take them seriously, even the French.

I forgot all about this post. Yes I did come off as very insulting. Your question was in no way trying to say Quebec is better then the rest of Canada, so I don't know why I went off like that about the French separatist movement. I really don't like French Sepratist movement with the FLQ BS. I will not get into a pissing contest with anyone over Quebec vs Canada. I do know alot about history. (English won French lost)I also know that the only resource that can be found and bought from Quebec that you can't get from the rest of Canada is asbestos.

I have talked with others about this topic over private messages. I have not had anyone come off that upset by it till now. I though this post was dead till today. Oh well live and learn.
