Best rewarding 'class'

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 4:46 am

Hi.

I don't know if theres been a topic of this (probably has), and I'm to lazy searching and looking for what I am about to ask (sorry for that), so here it goes;

What is the most rewarding class, in terms of playability and fun-factor? I guess this is a 'taste-matter', what you like to play as etc, but please share your views :-)

I have made 4-5 characters (thief/assassin (lvl 11), mage (lvl 5), 1H shield-warrior, Death Knight-ish (lvl 12, heavy armor, 2H, illusion magic for fear, conjure and destruction magic) and a 'Jack of all trades' (lvl 40, my first.. didnt know what to pick when I first played the game), so I tried to re-roll, and havent come up with what I want to stick with.
its not a problem, sure, I can play with all if I want, but I keep loading another character after 10m of gameplay, of 'unsatifyness', or because I'm uncertain. and that takes time.

I like the idea of the Death Knight (beeing a spellcaster with heavy armor, and I can rush in and crush skulls with a big great sword if I want), so I can variate the gameplay some, but I find that the destruction magic (frost) is very weak compared to sword-bashing and archery. Is it like this later in the game as well? (bare in mind, he's only lvl 12, and no, I havent used so many perks in the destro tree yet)

Thanks for answers!

Destruction magic is even weaker later on in the game.

I personally like a light armor archer that dual wields. Taking out enemies while sneaking + decimating them earlier is a blast :)

i dunno really it defo is a matter of personal opinion. I chose the argonian cos i kinda thought some deep sea/river diving might return some goodies. so far not much tho but its always fun to jump off a mountain into the river below. also kinda fitting to be reptilian an dragonborn as dragons are kinda reptiles aswell id assume. he also looks good in dragon armour an it suits him well.
apart from that the power argonians get is quit handy an has saved me many times in battle its also handy to be resistant to desease although you can do that better by becoming a werewolf.
im trying it out as a dark elf instead but so far havnt really found anything that makes it more fun to be the dark elf yet. i havnt progressed much with him to see if his powers benefit me in any real way yet though and am only level 6 ish.

im still wondering if the whole six change thing that argonians are supposed to be able to do half way thru life is an actual in game feature i cant find anything online but then i dont see any point in mentioning it in the race description if the player never gets to experience the change or at least have the option to experience it.

Okay. Great. Thank you tho.

Yes, I like my light armor archer/thief as well.

How do you stand against several attackers (light armor/survival)?

I didn't have much fun with classes that depended on magic.

I had fun with a sword and shield kind of character. Maybe the most balanced type of gameplay.

If you're looking for a slower approach, the stealth archer in light armor was awesome to play. It forces you to sneak around places and you notice more detail in the environments because of it.

If you're looking for fast gameplay, rushing into places and just start swinging for the fences, I'm having fun with my two-handed warhammer wielding in heavy armor, crazy Orc berserker.

hehe, yeah, my DK is a Orc as well. Funny when I start seeing red, then all my enemies are dead! (that rhymed!).

My problem is that I like to play with a lot of different 'classes', and with a jack of all trades he will never be REALLY good at anything, just a little good in everything. But perhaps thats what suits me.
IDK.

Magic can be very funny if you include more then Destruction. use all Magic skills is an way to enjoy Mages.

For me i most enjoy my Bard, 1 Handed, Speech, Picklocks and pockets, a little bow and strong Illusion and restoration Magic.

Im having the most fun playing a sneaky archer who uses poisons.
There is something very statisfying about clearing a dungeon without ever getting the combat music.

I am having most fun with my Thief/Archer character atm. Probably because that play style forces me to slow and not rush too much.

I can understand this :-) And yes, I find it soothing as well. Extremely, if not TOO easy, to hide tho :-P The bandit stands 1 meter away from you, and he screams out something like this: "must have been the wind". Hhahahah. Chuckle. But apart from that, its fun. Picking out targets one by one

I like my newly rolled Cleric character playing support role for my companions. Did the same thing during my WOW days playing Battleground Healer, haha so I love that playstyle.

Reason I made an alt Cleric was due to this mod, http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2384 Look at the screenshot of the Armor, very well done, haha

I've played all 3 arch types.

Destruction is still my favorite, if only because I like to throw fireballs at enemies. Conjuration gets boring after 30 mintues as you're doing nothing in all fights. I haven't tried Illusion but I can't imagine that's any different - just swap in enemies for atronach and you'll be watching another type of fight. Archer/Assassin is god mode without much smithing or alchemy, probably some mild enchanting and you're killing everything on the hardest difficulty with minimal effort, except for dragons. Dragons will seriously mess up your over-reliance on sneak attacks. It is best to have a backup plan for dragons. Melees are truly powerhouses in this game and you can tank and kill efficiently up close and personal. However it tends to get old fast too as there's not much tactics or variety in killing monsters except for hitting attack and be done with it.

Do you truly desire blocking to intercept someone's power attack when you can stagger lock them with chained power attacks of your own by eating food or Windshear? :whistling:

Am following earlier D&D rules. One hand Mace as weapon type only. Shield and Heavy armor. Going resto for heals and undead spells....

Here is a decent wiki article on D&D clerics. I am using this guide for my cleric.
