Where is all the Holy gear/quests?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:50 am

Seems to me there's a ton of stuff surrounding the Daedra from quests for them to armor and weapons but not much in the way of stuff for the Divine Nine amd/or divine gear.

I'm finally coming up on finishing my first playthrough as an archer-thief on the side of the rebellion and after that's done then I'm going to start a Paladin build on the Imperial side. Yet, all the heavy armor and weaps seem to be dark and evil and nasty. Not the sort of thing any Paladin worth his blessed salt would want to be seen running around in. So, is this just my luck so far that I haven't been seeing this stuff or is Skyrim tilted toward the Daedra and evil looking gear?

Cheers
Hal

Aedra can't get involved.

Meridia hates undead and her quest and reward are pretty fair for a Paladin. Azura's pretty neutral on the whole thing.

There's nothing evil and nasty about Ebony armor. It's just volcanic rock.

I guess the closest might be Steel Plate. But all teh best armour sets got that "Daedra and evil looking gear" as you call it. Daedric, Ebony, Orcish... They got the looks maybe, but Ebony for example is just volcanic ore.

There isn't any. There are also only 3 quests for non-daedric gods.
I guess joining the temple would have been too spreadsheety ..

Anyway, I'd either stay with Steel Plate, or, if you are on PC, get some nice texture mods for Ebony Armor.

Check out Meridia's Shrine. Her reward is a must-have for any paladin.

But it doesn't scale in any way, so at higher levels it would be just as strong as at lower ones. Some of the Daedric Artifatcs are rather weak in this game and I much rather want to use my Skyforge Greatsword than many of them.

Don't worry, I'm planning on making a mod that vastly increases the strength of all weak artifacts once the CS comes out in January, unless Bethesda beats me to it with their planned balance updates.

I really wish they had included a dye/enamel system for armour and clothing, as well as considered those who'd want to go the holy warrior-priest route. I can't see my Pally in ebony armour. In white enamled armour? Sure? Maybe a silver or gold mithril type deal. Part of the role is being a beacon. A light in the darkness as it were that brings hope to the people. I'm thinking Legend of Huma sort of thing here.

Ahh well, maybe I can find a group to do a proper Paladin mod with everything from quests to gear to shrines when the CS comes out. That or gamesas needs to do this for an expansion.

Thanks for the input folks.

There will probably be some DLC for it.

I hope for a mod allowing me to join the Vigilants of Stendarr. Those are paladins.

Ebony being a rock instead of wood is something I'm still not used to in this game. Likewise malachite, orichalcum and corundum; those are gemstones, not metals. Refining them from ores and hammering them into armor is just absurd.

Lucky thing I don't look for realism in my RPGs. Something like that could completely distract me from throwing lighting out of my hands at a multi-ton flying reptile that's spitting frost all over me...

Best Pally armour mod I've seen so far.

And yes, a good questline to join and fight for the Vigilants of Stendarr would be awesome as a possum!

Not to mention GLASS ARMOR.

Mhm... You can just hope that archer is firing glass arrows at you.
Nah.

Elven armor. Pretty sure you can reach armor cap with it and it definitely looks the part.
