I attempted to play an Altmer in Skyrim with my first character because they remind me of Elric of Melniboné novels and I kind of wanted to RP that sort of character exploring the monkey lands that had sprung up since the good old days. Oh well, he was killed by a since patched bug and a build I can’t yet seem to get to perk point out right…

I admit that some interest in the character was tanked by the game writers as well. It’s one of the best go play RPGs ever made but the story and people’s reactions really seem to favor and account for someone just playing the Nord hero too strongly.

I wanted to see the reaction of NPCs to the Dragonborn being a High Elf. Sadly, not much reaction : /

I liked the magicka bonus, and the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1286166-hidden-stat-differences-based-on-race-selection/ doesn't hurt to have.

I was planning on having her marry an altmer male (best looking male NPCs ingame), but of course they don't have dialogue available

I've got a male Nord as my first and main character. I'm thinking of making a female Altmer as my next character,

I think I'll mostly dressed her in robes and combines illusion magic for stealth and deception with two handed enchanted blade for her main attack. Kinda like a Samurai Warrior influence. Silent but deadly with the art of deception through the use of magic. Probably use alchemy a lot as well. Especially for making money.

yellow skin, clean face with black hair tied back I think will be her basic look. I'm gonna try and make her look hot. I don't want her to look too European as I want her to be not like my Nord.

I'm playing an illusion sneak archery one handed high elf and it's pretty damn awesome. On my bosmer pure sneak archery character I was screwed when ever I was caught off guard, but now I saber cat jumps in my face and im just like "calm down bro" and he's like "k" Then I find a good position get him low with arrows and walk to him all slow and epic with one sword and get the finisher animation. Much more epic.

I think stealth characters are often overlooked in games. I always play a sword warrior with magic to support as my first and main then try a stealth with bow. It surprised me the first time I did this how much fun a stealth character is. I actually find them easier as they become so much more deadly with a one hit kill. That or they just sneak passed un-noticed. Warriors have to smash through everything bad they encounter.

This is the first time I am going for a character than uses illusion as the way to be stealthy. I'm uses two-handed as that will be a different combination, invisible with high hit point.

My third character will have a bow. Probably a light armoured Khajiit as I love the look of the new Khajiit. Ra'ja Harjiit is the name I usually use for a Khajiit.

THIS! So much! I love my Altmer character, but at times it's almost immersion breaking that everyone seems to treat him no different than if he was a Nord. I mean I understand that not every race can get unique dialogue for every quest and such, but still... Any quest where you have to deal with the Thalmor is just...it takes some suspension of disbelief on both sides. First of all that die-hard Nords and Blades are going to trust an Altmer to go against the Thalmor with not even a thought that you might be a spy. On the other hand the Thalmor seem to automatically know that you are not one of them even if you are dressed in Thalmor gear. I mean maybe you are a new recruit...but nope they go straight to screaming "Elven superiority!" and all sorts of other things that makes no sense if you are a high elf too. Besides you'd think if the Thalmor learned that the Dragonborn was an Altmer they would at least try to get him/her on their side. It would make sense anyway.

They are naturally the strongest race because the taller you are, the more damage you do..

There are male elves? I always thought that were more manly looking females or shemales at best. Am i the only one who despises elves in all forms? In all RPGs in all stories, film, books i really hate them, they r like self-righteous hippies and yes i despise hippies too.
Where are my fellow dwarf lovers? Invade this post and open their eyes on the gayness of elves...Although their women could be enslaved to work in our brothels!

Well personally I think that even the female characters in Skyrim look like they have beards..
