Illusion magic with a Heavy Armored tank character

Anyone out there that uses Illusion as a tank type of character?

I'm curious as to how it works, since it seems to me like Illusion would be more of a stealth like school of magic, for characters who'd be lightly armored, sneaking around.

been planning to make a Heavy Armor High elf with lllusion but I haven't gotten there yet...was thinking of him being somewhat of a Controller or Puppeteer....

i agree using illusion for casters and sneaky types but is still usefull more at lower lvls i guess while you are tanking if you want to heal use Fear spell, if you want to take them one by one Calm spell but i guess thats about it

That's what I was looking at.

Ideally, I was looking at Illusion for Command spells, Conjuration for summoning and reanimating, and going into battle with a swarm of minions around me.

But with Command spells removed, it almost seems more of a stealthy type of magic now, hide in the shadows, cast Frenzy and watch your enemies take each other out. And since I'll also be using Conjuration, reanimate the fallen enemies and let them take themselves out from within.

I'm a fan of the character design, except that I like Heavy Armor tanking over Light Armor.

Works completely fine. Heavy Armor isn't much of an issue even when it comes to sneaking, with muffle spell+muffled movement perk. And once you've got invisibility, you'll practically be a ghost.

Conjuration now has the command spells so you don't need illusion at all.
