Still picking up little niggles and fixing as I go -- dialouge filtering for the most part. Despite this, I've heard no complaints from my testers so I assume it doesn't break anything; real life isn't allowing much playtime at the moment.

Okay - I'm happy to hear that you're still working on it! The only time I'll be happier is when it gets released an I can play it. :) Thankls for all the effort you put into this project.

Hi Sildra :)

Since I just saw you calling the motto "release early" sound advice in the mlox thread, I thought I'd ask how this mod is coming along? *cough* *wink* Sorry. ;)

grumble grumble :P

Well, since I haven't heard anything from anyone in a long while I'm going to assume it works well enough; annoyingly, I can't get it to the point where I can test the stuff I'm unsure of. My current character isn't very good at persuasion.

I'll look into what I need for a PES account and throw the existing beta open for public mauling. That should nicely catch anything I've missed. Yes, I am paranoid about this kind of thing.

EDIT: OK, now awaiting approval at PES. Would sir prefer a bump or a new thread on approval? :)

No preference there, I'll be happy either way. :) I guess it depends on whether you see it as a proper release or rather as a means of pre-release public beta testing.

My current character has a "Fortify Speechcraft" spell for situations where persuasion becomes necessary, so perhaps I can check those bits you're not sure of.

Well, that was much faster than I thought it would be -- http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7156.

I'm still thinking of this as a beta for the time being. Once I'm confident that everything works as it should I'll bump up the version number and (given my surfeit of free time lately) look into adding a few of the simpler quest suggestions. We'll see how it goes.

It looks like this mod would make a nice companion to this?http://www.adul.net/index.php?p=dl_mwmods_library_revised

The more book mods the better I think.

Whoo, feedback! Which basically says, "Hey, this doesn't actually do what you said it would." :banghead:

The opening quest issues have theoretically been fixed, need to run through it. The issues with stock not actually being purchased (and the slew of debug messages saying it is) will take longer to find and correct. On scripts I haven't looked at in over a year. I won't be able to put any real time on this until the weekend at the earliest.

Early and frequent releases may be good, but this teaches us that saying, "Eh, it's probably fine." is not a good strategy. My apologies to the people who have downloaded this already.

EDIT: Drekk now responds correctly when spoken to, and thing behave as expected when he's killed. The other points will be looked into further on Friday/Saturday.

Opening quest is working for longest and shortest routes. Middle route still untested but that should be quick enough. Making an item and then not dropping it on the body is not the way to go about this.

Need to figure out how to get customers to appear only when stock is in place, otherwise it crashes very quickly when they decide to buy something from an empty chest. Similarly, I need to look into the report of stock not actually selling. And error-handling for deciding to buy non-existant things in the first place. Oh, and get them to wander more, 'cause at the moment it's just creepy.

Should've stuck with making a house... <_< :P

OK, just put a delay in place through a dialouge/script combi that should (in theory) work as a switch for customer entry. That's all I really have time to do until the weekend, I've other things that need my attention.

I'll probably update the beta download early next week with the new file and a clearer note regarding its status as open beta. Thanks for everyone's willingness to hold the torchbearing mob. :embarrass:

I also tried out the mod, and noticed something. The chests are limited as far as number of books they can hold. Setting the Weight to a different value would fix this problem. :)

What's the current limit and what sort of limit would be preferred?

In other news, my free time has just been swallowed by gainful employment again. :celebration: Means less time to work on these issues, but work on them I shall. I hate leaving public projects undone.

Progress report: newest version in testing has triple-capacity stock chests, accounts for some of the expensive books that were originally missed, adds ingame instructions and has fixed all aspects of the initial quest to gain the store.

Still undergoing testing to ensure things actually sell; my tester's reports vary on this. Once I'm sure things are working I'll whip up a release thread and update the PES link. Please don't download the current file; it is broken in several ways, but I couldn't figure out how to take the thing down.

Yes, it's sort of been... a while...

Anyway, file on the download page has been updated to the latest beta version (0.9.24), since real life appeared to have eaten my last tester and I'm not really playing Morrowind myself anymore. I'm aware of the customers occassionally freezing, and an intermittant 'right eval' error (which may or may not have been tracked down); how to resolve these is another matter. So, all you who may have devoted up to a minute to wondering what was up with this -- go nuts! My bug report list stands open and ready. :P

Can it also include a cafe aspect, for those customers who like to come and have a coffee (or...something else) while they browse? :)

as long as you don't name the bookstore into a Starbucks I think this will be safe :P...for some reason though a cafe in a bookstore doesn't sit right unless the place is Starbucks...they seem to attarct those type of people (bookworms and authors and etc...)
