WARNING: SOME OF MY DESCRIPTION COULD AMOUNT TO A 'SPOILER' if it means anything to you......... So don't read on unless you've already done the Mages Guild 'Apprehension or Liberation' mission...

OK, so i've already done this mission a few times with previous characters, but this time i decided to do it a little differently.
First, and something i've done before for fun, i killed the baddies in Nenyond Twyll, but NOT the boss lady. I lure her out to The Faregyll Inn, inside, as she attacks i block her and yield (trying to talk during a block).
She accepts my yield and goes passive. I then nudge her over to the bar where she engages in polite npc trivial gossip with the locals. Its easy to do, but DO NOT talk to her again yourself cos she'll go straight into the start of her scripted introduction and recommence battle - which you can re-yield to if you wish. But this ain't the best bit.............

I then go back to Nenyond Twyll where i left poor 'ol Murciano all locked away. Release him and he's quite passive for a Zombie. You're asked by traven at the start of the mission to bring him home (to the uni) but when you find he's a worm thrall you can only really kill him out of kindness, or callously walk away.......

However, what if........... you DO resolve to get him back to traven? well, i had to get his attention non-fataly - so a smack in the mouth did that just fine. Next problem, Murciano, and probably all zombies can't or won't swim, but near Fort Homestead is a very shallow part of lake Rumare, with rocks in it, and you can indeed lure the poor old maggot bag back to the Arcane Uni. Next before entering, and remembering there's a Battle Mage on duty inside, i hit Murciano with a homemade protection spell, giving him enhanced endurance, 85% shield and a slow constant health restore all for two minutes. Then, in we go.
Fisrt off, the Battle Mage just ignored him! so we go into the Arch Mages lobby, and, as its 3am make our way to Traven's private quarters. Once there - woah!!!! it all kicks off. Murciano still in battle mode, goes for traven. Traven gives a good account of himself, but after a minute flees down stairs via his portal. Murciano is in hot pursuit, and i have to keep up just to witness the rumble. In the lobby Murciano corners traven and beats him unconcious, then does the same to the nearby Irlav Jarol. Maggot bag exits to the internal University grounds where he's set upon by no less then two scholars, Raminus and in moments traven himself. Two Imperial Battle Mages see whats goin' down and get real excited, but can't open the Uni gates and they're on the wrong side! So, they do the next best thing two frenzied soldier guys can do and attack eack other. meanwhile, the two scholars are dead, but so regrettably is our moldy friend. I intervene, by opening the iron gates and although one of the battle mages now lies dead, the other is still thirsty for more - so anew battle kicks off and its Polus and Traven Vs the Iron clad idiot. Well, of course only the battle mage can be fully killed so thats how it end up, but what a battle Royal. Thankfully i saved the game on a new save whilst we were in traven's bedroom, so i can watch it all play out again, probably differently, again. I LOVE this game.........................
