broen on ps3?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 4:43 pm

okay, so i have heard and seen the lag when your save file gets too big, i have also heard and seen all the bugs/glitches. everyone i know who has skyrim on playstation says its just downright broken. i want this game for xmas, i just don't want my parents to pay $60 for a game that's broken and not be able to get their money back. i have heard that if you have more gigs on your ps3 the game will run faster, i have over 200gigs of free space and one game saved file on there. so i'm just asking is this game for playstation kinda of like buy at your own risk because if it doesn't work your outta $60? so has anybody not had this issue on playstation or is in pretty much everyone and can the lag ever be fixed?!

I am having little no no problems. My big guy is lvl 58 ~15MB save file 110+ hours at this point (dont have recent time wirtten down). While it is possible you may have problems, I have not had any... and I personally do not know of anyone having problems.

I would take an educated guess and say the game can be fixed, as mine is working fine.

so that's good news that there is some hope and not everyone is getting the lag.

Don't listen to the guy above me, it definitely starts lagging for me after about 8mb; my game has also frozen about 5 times and some quests get glitched. I suppose that some people Ps3's are different.

Definitely not unplayable though. I'm sure there will be another patch soon, the one they just released is a quick fix by just lowering the graphics and some other things. Believe me, Bethesda wants this game perfect before Christmas.

i thought so. i have seen all kinds of videos of the lag and it looks so damn annoying with the frame rate pretty much dropping to zero.

The truth is that some people experience many more bugs and lags than others. The majority can play the game and experience little lag, and the few bugs that universally affect everyone. Personally, I have not experienced any consistent lag. After a few initial freezes with my character, and after the 1.02 patch, I haven't experienced one since.

Are you calling me a lair? Why not listen to me? Graphics have not been altered, take a look at fixskyrim. I guess maybe some playstations are different, but how does this invalidate my experience?

My cousin has this game and has no lag. He plays on the new PS3, if that matters.

I have very little problems with Skyrim on the PS3. I have the 40gb budget PS3 and keep about 4 or 5 saves per character (plus auto saves). The only issues i have are like about 1 load screen out of a hundred will not load. And very rarely has the game straight up froze. Besides that there are no problems at all. Don't be afraid to play it on the PS3.

Edit: I have never had a drop of frame rate.

You don't know of anyone that's having problems? Try Youtube... There are quite a bit of people having problems with this game on the Ps3; on my largest save (12mb) the game became almost unplayable until patch 1.2 And it still lags a little.

I understand that you're doing fine, but don't tell the guy that nothings going on.

Read much? I said know personally, as in know in person. My brother, his roommate, my ex-co workers, family, no one I know in the real world. I am well aware of the online community's problems.

I never said nothing is going on.

Mr Jones, settle down. We realize that some people are having issues. It has been documented. But some people have not had issues. Kindly don't infer that someone is a liar because they either disagree with you, or have a differing experience. I am sorry you are frustrated, but you also don't get to make sweeping claims either - that everyone is having problems because you are, or because people post stuff on Youtube.

ps3....only time i get issues are occasionally in the woods around riften and after long play sessions (5+ hours). my first playthrough had a 13mb save, and i'd get some framerate hiccups at around 4 hours. i have yet to experience a frame rate crash so bad i had to quit to xmb and restart. it's a million times better than new vegas (performance). i play on a six month old ps3 slim 120 gb. some machines are doing better than others. one friend of mine is having a bad time with frame rate crashes while i have been virtually error free.

i would guess if you have a newer system you should be ok. given the fragility of the ps3, constant crashes and lags could be a sign the blu ray driver/lens is dying. i had similar issues when one of my ps3's was on it's way out.

PS3s crap out at around 2yrs. My game is running fine right now but, in another year or so l'm sure i'll start to have problems. Complaints about lag and other issues may be just due to people being in a state of denial about their aging machines. If your PS3 is constantly on, you smoke and you're too lazy to clean the vents like I am get the 2yr warranty.
