TIP: I know the items reset if you drop them. So firstly, drop them then go and quest or something, come back later and they won't move when you go to place them.

That is pretty impressive, especially because I have yet to find an effective way of rotating stuff I'm grabbing around to get proper orientation for putting it down. I sense a lot of gold bars were smashed against walls to get that kind of order!
