Am I the only one that has trouble killing people and getting caught? Every time i kill someone in stealth and have a closed eye i still get caught. Need help if I'm doing something wrong.

The kill cannot be witnessed by anyone. If someone does see it you have to stay hidden for awhile so the "commotion" dies down. I had to do this when I killed the preaching Priest in Whiterun. Just wait for sometime or make your kill in a place where no one else is around.

Not being seen doesn't mean you can't be heard. When you kill someone the death scream will attract people if anyone is near, so if you murder someone get out of there before anyone can spot you. If you kill someone in town guards will appear red on your compass, but after they've searched the area and found no one they'll go nonhostile again and you've gotten away with murder.

If you can't manage not being caught try executing the sneak attack and then immediately drink an invisibillity potion and get away.

Hmmm, I wonder if Chickens still report crimes.... The only way to kill somebody and not get caught is to kill them too quickly for them to be heard (IE OHKO) or to literally kill everybody until there is no more witnesses.

Chickens are apparently witnesses :glare: which means they can, in essence, "report crimes".

Hehe... my first kill for the DB proper... I was cocky. I sniped her from stealth. Totally hidden, remained hidden. Thought I'd RP a bit. Hid away my bow, walked around the town, came in from an adjacent cardinal direction. Went over to "ask the guard what happened". He immediately "assumed" I was the guilty party. Kind of makes sense, though, if you think about it. Wouldn't it be the "new guy in town" who takes the blame?

Depends on so many things...day/night? outside with guards/people close by? whats your sneak skill and do you have any perks in it? have a dagger with tons of front loaded damage so you get a nice throat slicing animation?^^
