Poor Programming Bethesda

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 2:00 pm

So I'm Solitude and random dragon shows up, Swoops down and starts causing havoc with the town, Killing, chomping and burning everything. Woot it's a party..
So I stood back and watched for bit as guards all attacked.. The Dragon starts throw people left and right... was quite funny see Ancient
dragon toss people left and right...but thats not the point. The Point of this post is.. Bethesda "wonderful" programming..

I finally move in start hacking with my sword and kill the dragon. After the dragon is dead, dead bodies everywhere.
The guards and npcs all start moving closer and start asking
" What happen? "
" Who dis this "
"When I find out who did this .."

Next thing I know the guards keep question me a few times " Wait there, do you know anything about this "

and the DEAD dragon body is still there,. None of the guards/NPC even seem to notice or even take that into account..
LOL Wonderful beta testing Bethesda. Dead Dragon on ground, dead bodies all over the place and guards start to suspect its me?
and they ask me again over and over and over again?

SIghs.. This is what you get when Companies do console version of games.. poor programing.

I do not own a console nor do I even like consoles.....but you are blaming them for bethesda's (rather known and somewhat expected) poorly coded games? Please. Bethesda are visionary game designers, unfortunately the quality of their code is and always has been just a bit embarrasing. Simple as that.

Did you perhaps check what the bounty was when you got arrested? That would explain WHAT you're being charged with. Assaults are 40, murders are 1,000. It's pretty easy to accidentally hit a civilian with shouts.

I've been playing The Elder Scroll game series since Morrowind. Glitches and odd things happening, are honestly expected. Your game simply crashing every so often, a common place.

Any sand box game, specially RPG sandbox games, tend to always have a lot of bugs. I honestly enjoy hearing about the dragon destroying Solitude, and you being blamed for it. If that happened to me, I'd have a great laugh, and then reload.

Keeping a lot of saves, is your insurance to game breaking things happening while you're playing.

To be honest, I love the fact that Bethesda, On the console at least, has Three quick saves. Beautiful feature for those of us, who since Morrowind, through Oblivion, Fallout 3 and New Vegas, have instilled saving nearly every 5 minutes of game play

Its just something you get used to when playing large open ended games.

What Fladdeh said.

You need a sense of humour about these things, OP. Smile. Laugh. Until you cry. And then come here to tell us about it.

Well you can't fine a dead dragon. And have you ever heard of the Good Samaritan Act?

Come on this is pretty funny. Have a sense of humor.

So you sat back and let the Dragon destroy the town and once it was low on health you rushed in, got the Killing blow and now griping cause the guards are not licking your boots?

Maybe you killed or hurt a civillian? I mean, the amount of times I've used frost breath on a dragon, just for it to pass through it and hit 5+ NPC's.......

This happend to me twice too. There is a dragon near Windhelm's stables (or area near it). If you haven't killed that one yet, try fighting it near Windhelm. It will attack you at first, but once you get close enough to the city, or stables, it will attack the city. I thought that I accidentally attacked a horse or something because after I killed it the guards attacked me. I did a reload and became mindful of my attacks this time. It once again attacked the city after I got close enough. I did not fight the dragon when it is fighting a guard or a horse. I stayed back and watched the kill it, which they did. I only approached the dragon with my weapon sheathed when I saw that it was dead. I absorbed the soul and the guard attacked me again. I think that they thought I, the dragonborn, brought the dragon to the town. Or the guards think that the are dragonborn and I stole the the dragon soul.

Anyone can recreate this.
