Character Appearance Overwriting

Post » Wed Oct 28, 2009 10:26 pm

So far in Brink I've made four characters. The first character is the only one I've been levelling, and so he's naturally become my favourite of the bunch.
Just recently I started up a fourth character. I made him the opposite team of my first character, and began customising. Once I was happy with how he looked, I went and switched characters back to my first one to play the game.
I selected my first character and went into the Abilities screen, then when I went back I was greeted with my character four's Resistance team's appearance. Confused, I went to the character customisation screen and saw that both Resistance and Security appearance matched that of my 4th character, so my archetype, scars and I assume voice had all changed and I can't change them back.
The statistics and abilities have stayed that of character one's, but the appearance has entirely changed from The Suave to The Psycho. I figured this was one crazy glitch, and I should probably report it. So, this is that.
Allow me to demonstrate.

I know it's not the end of the world but it's a pain when you make an awesome looking Suave character whom you grow attached to, who suddenly transforms into a Psycho guy with slight strabismus, with no way to change back except make a new character, who'll be all the way back at level 1...

Also, I'm not sure if this is related, I'm not even sure if this is a bug or it's supposed to happen, but when I make a new character I have all the clothing, weapons and attachments unlocked that I've unlocked as other characters, excluding body type. Is that supposed to be like that?

Seriously though, does anyone have any ideas how this could have happened? One character's appearance completely replacing another's, archetype and everything?

I don't have this issue, but in some cut scenes my character turns into my main character.. only for the cut scene though.

I had this happen to me today. As soon as I changed my pants on my Security toon it modified the pants on his Resistance outfit.

I seem to be having a voice bug for my characters, in that it will change to the first characters voice I made regardless of the character voice I picked for the other characters I made.

That's weird. What weird bugs.
So yeah, I was pretty ticked off at this thing so I basically deleted my characters and started anew. Because I had the characters all matching their poses and it looked totally awesome.
On the bright side, it only takes like a day of really playing to get your character all levelled up again, so yeah.
