How do you develop your character?

As it stands with my first character currently in the range of level 30-35, I have decided to opt for a heavy armour wearing melee character. This means I am going for two handed and one handed heavy armour and block. Though I feel like maybe I am crippling myself by not taking enchanting/alchemy/magic/thieving skills. I am just wondering what do you guys do? I intended on making 3 guys, a magic guy, a fighter and a thief/assassin but I am not sure how much more difficult I am making the game just specializing.

Do you guys mix and match or follow the same road as me?

Thanks guys

I'd stick to your limits.

I started with a "mutt". (Jack of all trades) Gets boring pretty quick.

I then started my thief, giving him a back story, deciding what he was and was not capable of, and I have stuck to it. He never uses heavy armour, even if it means success vs failure for example. If he can't hack it with what he's limited to, he runs away until he can.

It's one of the funnest characters I've ever played.

I make a lot of characters and so far I have 4. One Nord warrior with one hand, heavy armor and restoration as main focus. One Dunmer (main character) focus on all stealth skills and uses one dagger and bow. (both characters in lvl 50), another dunmer, but with focus on magic and heavy armor. Last character is a Khajiit with illusion and light armor and one hand, but he's only lvl 12 now.

Did a pure warrior heavy armour sheild till about 40 then when I got all the perks I wanted out of the trees then branched out to others.

Never bothered with enchanting but I did do blacksmithing. My advice is wear an armour set for about 10 levels then focus on leveling blacksmithing to the next armour tier make the whole set and wear that for another 10 levels then move on

I try to vary my combat in order to develop certain skills. Its good I think to have multiple ways to fight. The thing is on expert mode letting things get close to my mage is VERY dangerous!
