Can't fast Travel

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:16 pm

I am so tired of this game crashing to the desktop every time I want to fast travel. It doesn't matter where I am on the friggin map it will crash if I try and fast travel. EVERY TIME!

Every time I want to fast travel the game will start to reload the location to where I want to fast travel to and at THE VERY END of the loading it will crash to the desktop. It makes me so angry that I just want to punch someone or some thing. It's [censored] game breaking that's what it is. :banghead: You cannot enjoy the game at this point.

http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013 cured my fast travel crashing. It's just a LAA launcher and doesn't alter the game's .exe.

So don't fast travel. it's way more fun than Oblivion to actually walk to wherever you want to go. I rarely fast travel.

I got this to even when I was using the 4GB Launcher. I did a few things including updating it and when I went back to my game it had stopped doing it.

I'll assume updating it was what did it, but as I was tweaking and fiddling with several things having nothing to do with this it is possible I did something else.

My original 1.1 version (Named TESV4GB.exe, so it never updates. After the 1.2 patch that updated the TESV.exe also in the directory.) closes the map if you select a location or try and place a marker leaving me back in game. Something other than the exe itself seems to have effected this, though I have no clue what.

It's a great game on the one hand, but it is a piece of feces on the other. For example, last night when I was playing, at level 17, I tried to use a fireball spell and it would not work. I would go into the menu, select it for my right hand and upon hitting the "R" key to use it, my character would only draw her two swords --in both hands: even after I had changed the right had to the fireball spell. There was something wrong with the key binding, or some BS thing. I deleted the last four saves and it was still doing it. So, I had to uninstall the S.O.B. and then reinstall it: along with all of my mods. It is really hard to enjoy the game when it is so corrupt with bugs and feces. And, yes, all of my drivers are up to date. That is obviously SOP first and foremost. It is bad enough that the character creator is full of butt ugly presets then you have to contend with the damn bugs. And, despite what others here may say, when you walk into a store to purchase something you expect it to work right out of the box --regardless of what is you purchased. Sadly, however, this is how our illustrious corporations work these days: on the cheap to afford their investors. As a result, product quality and customer service are virtually nonexistent. :swear:
