Perks you can do without

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:23 am

There are some perks I will not choose simply because I think they will ruin some of the fun.
I will pick one for startes. Light Steps i think its called. No pressure plate triggered. Whats the fun in that? I want to die a
horrible death if I dont watch my steps. Getting crushed to pulp by falling rocks simply because I was to busy admiring the lovely
arcetecture. If anything i would like traps to be even more deadly and with some cool slomo death cutsceens. Now that would be cool.
But I digress, What perk can you guys really be without?

The one that lets you roll while sneaking. What does that even do (apart from the obvious)? Oh, and half of the lockpicking ones.

The roll while sneaking one is actually a big part of my game. Its fun and makes for some nice kills.

Anything related to lockpicking. Oh wait, the lockpicking skill is useless as well.

Lockpicking perks....the minigame is to easy to actually need them.

I have a good solution for that though, simply force the PC to quit out of locking after a failled attempt.....that would make Lockpicking really hard if you dont invest in the skill as you couldnt just hone in of the sweet spot as it would keep changing.

Lockpicking perks are really bad compared to what u can get in other perk trees.

I think the whole skill should be sacked to be honest.

The whole of lockpicking, pickpocket, that tree that governs price, illusion. My second character had a rule in no smithing, enchantment and alchemy as well, I can survive just as well without them.

Oh, and half of sneak.

This perk is amazing. By far one of my favourites, makes for some fast sneaking and funny stealth kills.

There's probably alot of perks I can do without in the game, picklocking tree, alchemy tree, illusion tree, that one perk in the stealth tree that makes running and walking silent, etc. Mainly things that make my game to easy or that I'll just never use on any of my planned characters.

The entire novice/adept/expert/master list of perks need to be removed. They serve no function other than to force you to waste a point, when the skill points that you earn while actually using the skills could serve that purpose more efficiently (ie. the higher the skill point, the less mana per cast/more damage dealt.)

Oh and Silent Roll is awesome. Those kind of perks are what the game needs more of. Something that really defines your class.
