Thieves. : V

Don't know if I triggered a quest or not, but I've ran into bout 6-7 thieves now being attacked by town folk, 3 in Riften, one in Riverwood and another outside Whiterun.

Any ideas?

Same has happened to me but only in Riften. Only thing i can think of is it happens after you finish the thieves guild questline and the guild is back on it's feet

the guild has rebuilt after the quest line completion.

At least that's how it timed it for me. So I kill them myself for getting caught.

returned the thieves guild to its former glory? If so, I think they need to tighten their recruitment standards

It started for me right after I joined the Guild.

Stepped out the Cistern, and saw a guy get arrowed down instantly. Looted his ass, and kept walking.

Nope, I have only done one quest and that was sometime back.

I have not done the shake down initiate quest. Go to A get money, go to B get money. No killing, but threats will work.
