Arrow Crafting?

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 5:10 pm

Are we going to see a future update regarding this, for all versions? As in adding to the game.

This is the one and only complaint I have thus far (no arrow crafting) with the game aside from the glitches that plague the it.

It would be nice if they did add it.

Maybe there's be super-powerful arrows that require relatively rare ingredients, so one could only craft a relatively small number of them. But they'd be saved for special moments when you're taking down the big boys :P

Think the Black Arrow from The Hobbit, though not so much unique as simply rare.

Of course, inevitably someone would find a way to exploit the system, and everyone would be carrying a quiver of 1000 Ebony-Gold Arrows :/

I still wonder why a nine year old game (Morrowind with official Area Effect Arrows DLC) surpasses Skyrim in that way.

I wonder:
- Why there is an arrow crafter at Solitude but you can't buy arrows from him
- Why you can't craft arrows
- Like mentioned above, no cool arrows like in Morrowind in Vanilla version

By the way there are already some custom made plugins avaible which allows you to craft several different arrow types. Just have a look at the skyrim nexus

You should absolutely be able to craft arrows, even if it required a perk in the smithing tree. It's so ridiculous that you can forge daedric armor but you can't sharpen the end of a twig. Can you even find daedric arrows in game?

They decided to not add arrow crafting because kids would complain how complex and difficult it is.

How?

If the game required you to get all of the necessary ingredients, then this could be difficult. Hagraven feathers for high level arrows and hawk feathers for the lower level arrows.

Though I suppose they have countered this with the amount of arrows that merchants sell.

There is a reason why people buy the PC version.

it would be easier because someone could just repeatedly make iron arrows and unlike iron daggers they wouldnt weigh anything

id say 1 ingot(differs per type), 1 firewood, leather strips(possibly, to hold them together) and 1-2 feathers(hagraven?) would be needed for 10 arrows. and then make it to where arrows cant be upgraded to keep it a bit more balanced.

for daedric, you would of course need a daedric heart. this could work out nice if you ask me. just dont give a huge amout of arrows per amount of materials.

What Daedra?

As for skill spamming, the idea is to make the requirements for making arrows more difficult than the Iron Daggers. Arrows, shafts and the head. naturally you would make a pack of maybe 10 or 20.

@Revisfan: What of the fletching? Hagraven feathers. add some difficulty into making them.
